There are too many dogs to choose from! Anybody have info bad or good on shar-peis?

I heard that they are not good with children, but I don't have any first hand experience with them. WHy don't you call a vet's office in your area to get some informaiton, I am sure they may be able to help you.

If you go to North Shore Animal League, they are great with knowing about the breeds and which are good for what you are lookin for (ie. good w/kids, good for security, needs a lot of outdoor time, good house dog, etc.) My mother in law works there. My sister got a dog from there last year and it has worked out great, my other sister is looking there now.
hey!! My mom's puppy may be having puppies! she's a terrier/bichon mix.. the cutest little thing ever!! she is soo loveable!!

My friend at work has one-- very needy. SMELLY, and this one is having problems holding it's urine and it is only 6. I don't know if that is a breed thing or not.

My mom's friend had a shar pei and the dog needed a lot of attention and could only eat special food.
If you are looking for a dog let me know (fm me), FI's friend works in a vet and she assists with an animal shelter that is always looking for good people to adopt dogs.

What about a schnoodle? It's a cross b/w a poodle and a schnauzer. FH and I were looking into puppies and we found this breed. But I have no first hand experience with them. Here are some pics and a good website:

I think the name shnoodle is the funniest thing! I just keep saying it to myself - my coworker must think I'm nuts, cause I keep giggling about it! I keep picturing some Swedish woman yelling 'Schnooooodlllllllle'!

Marcela- My DH used to have a dachsund named Schnitzel!!!!! Cracks me up every time...they affectionately called him schnitzel bomb!! hahahaha
