My dried bouquet

My dried bouquet

I FINALLY had some free time recently and bought a storage case for my bouquet. I had my bouquet in the mason jar that my florist gave me (with my name in calligraphy on a notecard on the side) but it knew it would get ruined by dust, so this will keep it safe.

I'm using the jar inside the box to keep the bouquet steady.

Teri I love it! It looks great. I bet our bouquets were the same size, where did you get your case? I am looking for something exactly like that and Michael's had them and they were like $60, which I thought was a lot. Where are you displaying it?

Re: My dried bouquet

Thanks!

Stacey - Yep, I found it at Michaels, for $50 - it was a lot, but I figured I would have a hard time finding something similar for less. Plus, I used a 40% off coupon, so I saved $20!

My bouquet is about 12' tall, and I think this case is 11'. For now, I have it on top of a storage piece in my living room. But once my shadow boxes are done, I might move it somewhere else. Not sure where though - it's a big box!

Re: My dried bouquet

Thanks Teri...you paid $50 with the 40% off coupon? I just got that coupon with today's paper, I might get it since yours looks so good. We will have matching dried bouquets in shadow boxes, ha ha!

Teri - very pretty - looks almost as beautiful dried as it did on your wedding day (or at least as much as I could tell from your pics)

I have been planning to buy one of those for awhile now...ever since I re-did my bouquet in silk. Once we are in the house, that's on the top of my to-do list.

Re: My dried bouquet

Thanks everyone! The 40% off coupon comes in so handy at Michaels - I try not to buy anything there without some sort of sale or coupon!

Stacey - where did you find your coupon, in Sat's Newsday?

It was so easy to dry my bouquet! I didn't want to pay for a professional or anything, and I'm sure they'd do a better job, but the day after the wedding, I hung the bouquet by a string in my closet at home - it has to be a dark dry place. About 3 wks later, it was perfectly dry. That's it!

Edited to add: the bouquet must be hung upside down in order to dry properly!

Teri, that looks awesome!! I think you've got a lot of girls running to Michael's this weekend (including me)!

Very good idea Teri. My bouquet is dried in a vase. This will really protect the bouquet a lot.

Re: My dried bouquet

Teri, Sunday's paper had the Michael's coupon. This is my bouquet that I dried the same way in the basement and it looks OK, not the best but I like it. But I want to put it in a shadow box like you did since this will get dusty. This pic is kinda dark though...

Re: My dried bouquet

Stacey - yeah, mine looks nice too, but I'm sure a professional could have done a better job. It wasn't worth it to me to have a professional dry it though - how many years am I really going to keep it for anyway?!

How tall is your bouquet - it looks large!
