So DH & I decide to go to Houlihan's for lunch yesterday. The restaurant was not full since it was only 3pm so the hostess seats us in a row near the kitchen that has only one other table occupied.
Anyway, DH & I notice different waiters constantly walking by & looking under empty booths in our row with a flashlight & during this time a couple of them say to eachother that they 'cannot see it.' At that moment, I am thinking that I do not want to think the worst expecially since Houlhan's was one of my favorite places to eat.
Then the manager runs over to us & frantically asks us if we would mind moving to a table in the next row.
As we were leaving the table some employees ran out of the kitchen with a broom & a small cardboard box & contunued their search under the booths. At this point, I am trying to turn my head to see what they are looking for but the manager is still behind us trying to hurry us to the next row of tables so I couldn't see anything. Then she begins to tell us that she will give us a free appetizer & dessert & never really explained WHY were were getting this free food.
As we were sitting down again to our new table we hear the broom scratching the floor & the box hitting the floor & several waitresses who were in that area scream.... DH & I looked at eachother & we ran the hell out before even placing our order!
We never actually saw anything but it was obvious what is was.. just wanted to share.

I know, it really was one of my favorite places to ea.. The food was always tasted fresh & anything I tried was realy good.
I mean, I guess every restaraunt has their dirty little secret as it is even difficult to keep bugs & things out of homes themselves but it was creepy experiencing that yesterday.

Yeah it def. would have bothered me. You don't know where it might be and you def. don't want to eat there after witnessing that.

i work for a college and we really have no food around in our building and yesterday i found cockroaches. When I worked for a bakery we had mice for a bit during a rainy spring or the cold weather moving it. Stuff like that kinda happens but yea you don't wantt o see it when your eating at a place. I would wait a month or so before going back let them flush out the problem and seal up the holes.

every restaurant has bugs and rodents...
I wouldn't want to experience them SEARCHING for them, yes... but I'd be naive to believe that ANY restaurant is impeccable.
though I can understand your gross-outness...

Exactly! Movie theaters are worse than restaurants. Scott & I saw a huge arse mouse wondering the hallway in the Clearview Westbury Stadium 12 last year. We were because it was SO big. We've also seen them behind the theater where the dumpsters are.
I also saw a mouse when we were eatting at Papa Razzi. I didn't have the heart to tell Scott since was really enjoying his food. Once we were in the car I told him and he was I didn't tell him the moment I spotted it. I'm still not sure what the difference would have been .
