turned out to be a kidney stone! ******** those b!tches HURT. I was in the ER all night! On the bright side I have a prescription for vicodin and an excuse to skip work today. I think I'm still high on all the pain killers they loaded me up with.

Re: My false UTI....
What do they do for those now? I remember my dad got them when I was a kid and now he's super OCD about drinking water because I think he somehow flushed it out.

Re: My false UTI....
Ohhh, no way!! Agh, my DH has gone through that a couple of times. The first time was really bad. He has a really good tolerance for pain and he was tripled over! We were at the emergency room...and he had no coverage! So I sympathize with you. Vicodin will be your best friend until you pass it. Drink LOTS of water...feel better!

Re: My false UTI....
Oh no! I missed the post about the UTI. My mother in law passed a kidney stone a few weeks ago and said it was BAD. Hope you feel better soon! Did they tell you if you have more? I hope you don't!

I don't want to find out firsthand...I've had a UTI, but based on my DH's experience, I have a feeling a kidney stone. Luckily, when we went to the ER, the doctor had experienced it herself, so she understood. She put him on the morphine drip and he was feeling much better!

I've had both and they are both painful, but for different reasons. Thank goodness for the morphine drip -- that was probably the worst pain i've ever been in.

Ohh, so you know firsthand! That's the one thing everyone says...it's the worst pain they've ever been in.

Re: My false UTI....
thanks girls! I passed out after that post it was such a long night. I'm feeling so much better. I had a MRI and the dr. said it had already passed but he said there were more and I have to see a urologist, so if anyone has any good recommendations please let me know.
Danielle - I think the stone was more painful BUT it could be because it was fresher in my mind. I haven't had a UTI since 2004 :knocks on wood: although they did put me on cipro so maybe I had one on top of the stone. I also had a yeast infection. Good times!

Oh my. You poor thing.
My doctor told me what causes UTI's -- she said that you must urinate after sex. Ever since following that rule I've haven't had a UTI.

Yea, that's my routine too. My dr. said the same thing after the first one. This time, they didn't say I had a UTI he said I had a high white cell count in my urine? I don't know what that means or if I even said it correctly but I'm on cipro so there is some kind of infection.
