my first post here! I need grown up decorating help

Hi everyone!

Marriage is making me feel more like a grown up and so I think its time to get some grown up furniture.

Thought I'd start with living room. Where do you guys shop? Where are the sales? Discounts, service, selection?

Anyone bought furniture on ebay. There is some factories selling online.

Where do you look for design ideas? I'm looking to adding some moulding to the Living Room.

TIA!

Bobs Furniture always has the best prices and they are modern/traditional. You can try Rt 100 ? theres a whole strip of furniture stores back to back. IKEA, Raymor and Flannigan, Huffman Koos etc...

I guess looking at magazines can give you some ideas!
Or when you go to the show rooms you can get some ideas...

PS did you post any wedding pics?? I want to see you in your gorgeous dress!

Good luck!

for accessories and stuff I love crate and barrel, and if you look at their catalogs you can get alot of great ideas on decorating. Theres also tons of home decorating magazines out there and you can buy a few for inspiration.

also watch HGTV they have so many great shows about decorating your home and also give tips on how you can save money

Chiasso is also really good for decorating ideas and they have some good quality furniture and rugs.

We just bought a bunch of furniture (new bedroom set, sofa and credenza for the living room) from Fortunoff...they were having some really good sales Columbus Day weekend and with Veteran's day coming up I'm sure all the stores will have similar sales.

for smaller decorating pieces (lamps, chairs, pictures, etc) we LOVE Home Goods! It's like TJMaxx for the home..really nice things at discounted prices.

I'd recommend hitting the Fortunoff clearance center (separate building than regular Fortunoff).. I got a $2500 brand new L-shaped couch for $600!

I LOVE home goods!!! I got my brown microsuede couch & loveseat plus a lift top wood coffee table from a place in hempstead...i think it was r & S furniture...paid 1100 for all 3 pieces. bobs furniture or gothic cabinet and craft have good deals. also what i do is look at things in dept. stores like macys...and find it on ebay for cheaper...like a duvet that was 400 on sale...is now up to $40 on ebay.
