My husband's place was struck by lightening yesterday

He is ok, thank god, and I guess this is something normal? Has this ever happened to anyone?

Anyway he said there was a big storm when he was taking off and them bam, a loud crack and flash of blue light and the whole plane got hot really fast. Then he heard a crackling noise and started to panic. 2 minutes later it happened again and people started to freak. The stewardesses didnt say anything but finally the pilot came on and said what happened and that they were ok and it happens often. Hellooo scarry! DH travels a lot and I always worry about his safety. He doesnt get scared often but he really freaked at the crankling noise..he thought the plane was splitting open. I think I would have fainted. I am so glad all is ok and that he got home safely.

I would have had a heart attack! My car was struck by lightning once, while I was in it. That was scary enough. I can't imagine it happening while I am riding on something that is suspended in the air, I would have freaked.

wow, i've flown quite a bit and never heard of that happening! that's scarey, but glad he's ok!

omg that is so scary. My DH hates to fly I am sure he would have had to get escorted off the plane, and would never fly again.

I can't even imagine how scary that was for him, and you! Thankfully he is okay.

I was on a plane once that the landing gear didn't come down and they made us put our heads down etc. it was frightening.

Anyway I had to reread the whole thing bc the heading said place and I kept reading on plane. I realized later I am way tired and that was just a typo.
