my kid is a breakdancing SUPERSTAR

So, a few weeks ago we were out in manhattan and came across a 'percussionist' in the subway... He was banging on a bunch of pots and pans.. very funky.

so my very SHY KID gets out and starts breakdancing... I finally got around to uploading it from my phone.

It's sideways, hopefully I can edit the video in imovie when I get home, but I just needed to share.

PLEASE PLEASE ignore the annoying 'WOOOOOOOOOOOOOS!' as my phone ONLY picked up my cheers and I forgot that *I* was the one recording the video and totally ruined the sound quality of my expensive production (haha)

my DH is a DJ and we both LOOOOOOOOVE house music so we're always dancing around the apt...

2 wknds ago we brought him to the yard in brooklyn where roy davis jr was spinning (legendary house DJ)

it was a day time thing so people bring their dogs and kids... Aidan got right on the dancefloor and started doing his thing... he always makes people smile, so we encourage it.

We used to take him to PS1 in the summer before it got INSANELY CROWDED..

here he is when they had body n soul (from vinyl)

The kid gets to experience unique things, I'll tell you that...

OMG he was LITTLE there! Sooo cute. Its good he gets to experience all that. I was really sheltered as a kid so it made me more shy. i brancjhed out in HS because I got to go to school in the city and it gave me new things to experience.

I was telling my sister once how I can't believe how much he loves to get out there and dance... etc etc... and she's like:
'are you kidding me?... you & DH take him to so many things focused around dancing and music.. how could he not?'

and I realized... we took him to these places b/c it was a way for US to get out and enjoy music and dancing.. (being selfish) I didn't realize it would mold him into what he is becoming.
