Re: my last name
I feel your pain. It still feels weird signing my new last name. I'm married a little over 3 months and I still haven't changed it at work.

Re: my last name
I agree. Initially i was somewhat resistant because i felt like i was giving up who i was and had been my whole life. Being a very independant person, it was hard for me to do that. But I think once you start the process and start signing your name with your new last name, you will get more into it. I still get excited when i sign my new name and i've gotten over feeling sad. Don't worry, you will always be the same person with the same connections to your family! And now you have the chance to start a new family with your DH..

Re: my last name
I did cry at the SS office! And even though I've been married for over a year, I still make reservations under my maiden name. Legally, I've taken his name, but my head and my heart haven't caught on yet.

Re: my last name
Wow, am I the only one who didn't feel upset? I was happy to get rid of my last name. Though, it startles me sometimes when I realize how quickly i got used to it.

I'm with ya Debs! I was very happy to change my name for a few reasons... and also to have an easier name to pronounce and spell

It was really tough for me to get my head around too. I ended up making my maiden name a second middle name.

This is what I did too. It was hard for me cause I am super close with my dad and I liked my last name so much....

Re: my last name
I STILL have not changed anything but my bank statements. I am STILL, 7 months later, having a really hard time changing my name. I am going to go over my vacation in a couple of weeks and change everything because I would like to have the same last name as our daughter when she is born in June. However, my solution was that all of our children will have my maiden name as their middle name JT loved the idea!

I love my new last name...I feel bad that I DIDNT get upset. The only thing that upset me was how hard it was to change it
