haha that sounds like something my receptionist would do! Isnt she afraid she will get fired? i mean, getting wasted on the job cant be looked at very well.

I guess not! It's funny because I got in trouble because I burped at work (I have a gastrointestinal disorder) and she's wasted and no one says a thing! I don't get it.

Ya thats really bad! lol I remember this one time when I worked in retail a woman came into the store..mind you..its 9 in the morning, DRUNK! She even brought a beer in the store! it was horrible!!!

wait - during her lunch? Like she went on break sober and came back drunk? Who does that?? I don't anybody who would ever have even just one single drink during a work day. I wonder what was up

But while we're on the subject - no embarrassing moments for this woman? She didn't start dancing on her desk or giving the boss a lap dance?

yup she went sober and came back drunk. No embarassing moments besides me messing with her and she had Mr. Ward on hold (I heard her call him by that) and she's like uhhh I forgot who was on and I'm like it was Mental Ward and she's like ok and she starts walking away and I'm like no no it was Mr. ward and she didn't realize what I said but she did almost announce him that way. That was the most amusement I had.

Is she 'a little off' or something?

ETA: Wait I thought she was drinking AT her desk....not like its a great idea to go tolunch and get wasted, but its a little different then slugging at your desk lol

As someone who constantly drinks on the job, I find nothing wrong with it! Of course I work at a nightclub so theyre may be a slight difference

whoa you actually got in trouble for burping? I can't even imagine what that 'meeting' must've sounded like... I work in a 95% male office and the only 3 females have to literally dodge the farts and belches all day lol

yeah that's fvcked up they didn't say anything to her! not professional on either part

yup! I had to bring in a note from my gastrointerologist letting them know that I have a disorder and must expel gas via mouth. It's the funniest doctors note ever.

Do any of you drink at work? I mean at lunch, a drink or two?

I've had a glass of wine at business dinners, but at my current job, even having a drop of alcohol would be grounds for dismissal. That's probably normal, as I work in a lab with chemicals!

I'm pretty sure its grounds for dismissal for majority of jobs out there.

I smelled a familiar odor when I covered the phones today and then it dawned on me....the receptionist has been drinking! Anyway she stumbles back into the office and sure enough she was drunk. And not even like she had 1 drink during lunch, she was slurring her words and couldn't remember who was calling. Who does that??

the receptionist and I used to do that at my old job. We would take our boss's vodka and spike our drinks while working... we hated our job and needed to get through the day somehow! LOL

Liquid lunch!!
