My Vacumm Smells...

I dont know what it is,.. i have changed the bag, anyone know what i should do? i only spent 59.00 on it, and i am sure servicing it is going to be almost the same price.. Is it time for a much BETTER vacumm? I only bought this one about 6 months ago...

You might try gettting some of that powdered carpet cleaner, and sprinkling that down and vacuming that up, or even baking powder. Maybe follow that with some pot-pourri? My vacume smelled of pine needles and Christmas trees every time I turned it on until I changed the bag last month, but since you've changed your bag, it may be an odor that is in the hose. It's worth a try before you buy a new one.

I agree with Karen. I use those powered carpet cleaners and my vaccuum smells delicious!
Definitely give it a try.

Could it also be the belt?
If you vacumed something you shouldnt of, coulda burned the belt up.. that smell wouldnt go away till you changed it

That's what happened to me... I vacuumed something I shouldn't have...and burned the belt!! It stunk mightily. Mind you, it was just the 2nd time I used my $250 vacuum!!

DH bought a new belt for a buck and changed it! Good as new!

my mother gets these tablets to put in the vacuum...they have a scent...I guess you could get them where you get bags...
