Re: Myrtle Beach
I lived there for about 2 years several years ago. If you can help it--I would stay out of the actual Myrtle Beach area....it gets jam packed during that time of year! Surfside Beach or even North Myrtle isn't as packed...Murrell's Inlet is very nice too......its further away from the city center but far enough way from the craziness. If you get ANY hotel on Ocean Blvd in Myrtle Beach---you will be in for some traffic since its popular to 'cruise' up and down the streets at night.
I used to work at a steakhouse at Broadway at the Beach -- that place is fun--like a big outdoor shopping mall with tons of shops. House of Blues is always fun up in N. Myrtle and there are tons of shows and such to see in the area.

yes that's a nice area. its just south of where i used to live in surfside beach but north of murrell's inlet. you'll be about 20 min. away from most everything in myrtle beach and about 35 min. (sometimes 45 depending on traffic) from North Myrtle Beach. I prefer it that way myself, cause when you're right in the middle of it all, it can be a bit much. Its a fun place to go but there's a reason that many refer to it as the 'Redneck Riviera'.
Areas south of Myrtle are really great to stay--not as crowded at all!
