Nail update and vacation question -- time sensitive -- please reply

Hi ladies!
Thanks to all who responded to my hysterical door-slamming-on-finger/acrylic nail- fiasco.
I'm OK. It doesn't really hurt anymore unless I squeeze it, so I'm not squeezing it
I went to the nail salon, had the acrylics soaked off. The nail is bruised, but its OK.

Now, new question -- anyone ever been to Pt. Pleasant NJ? Any thoughts/opinions, or suggestions for somewhere else to go just to get away midweek?
DH and I are going to Atlantic City tomorrow. We are teachers and are off, and are miserable just bumming around our apartment, so FH had the idea to stay somewhere else in NJ for a couple of days. He randomly picked Pt. Pleasant because it was a beach town and not to expensive, and on the way home from AC. But we know nothing about the place, and don't want to go if its a college party town -- not us old married folks!
Any info, or suggestions for somewhere else on the way back from AC would be greatly appreciated! We'd like to book before we go to bed tonight. Thanks in advance!

thank you! Anyone else? I just read some very mixed reviews on trip advisor -- that the beach is crowded and you have to pay to park and again to get on the beach? That sounds nuts!

Ive never been there so I cant help but I know how your nail feels
I slammed my finger in a door and it actually cracked the acrylic and ripped the tip of my nail and finger off
VERY VERY painful so I can sympathize with you!

Wow, paralega, so sorry that you had to experience this too -- sounds like yours was worse than mine.
Gemnifer, thank you for your sympathy! I posted about 3 days ago -- I was so hysterical because I'm not used to acrylics, I only got them for the wedding, and then kept them up. I slammed my apt. door on my own finger like a moron! It hurt like hell and I was afraid I was going to get an infection with the acrylic over it. I was advised to wait a few days before doing anything, so it is OK now.

I think we are just going to AC -- we don't know enough about Jersey to book anything else, and we really don't need to spend any more $ -- unless we hit it big at the quarter slots in AC! We got spoiled being away on our honeymoon and just want to go away again!

I live like 10 min. from point, LOVE IT .. White sands Hotel, is a great hotel if you need someplace to stay, they r directly on the beach, and have a little private beach, this way you don't pay for parking or to get on the beach, which u have to do if you stay at other places, plus there spa is AMAZING!. Def. go to the inlet, walk the boardwalk etc. Aquarium is pretty cool, theres even a fortune teller next door.

Umm what are you looking to do? Eat, bars, what? THeres tons of things, and I know alot about it, so don't hesitate to ask!

I have never been there, but have you looked into smithville village, its a historic town about 20 minutes from atlantic city, there is about 60-70 shops that include a wine shop that you can taste samples, italy store, a beer store, awesome bakery, country store and everything else you can imagine. Me and Dh goes there at least once a year. they ever have like a old arcade games when you walk around and paddle boats shaped likes swans, lol

any questions let me know

Wow! Thanks! We just want to relax and go to the beach, dinner and relax at night. We're wild and crazy
We are leaving for AC in about an hour, and didn't book anything else, we just dont want to be home and want an inexpensive mini-break holiday! So we are winging it. We'll take the lap top and decide tomorrow if we want to extend our mini-trip a day or two, so any suggestions between AC and Brooklyn would be greatly appreciate it!

Well AC is great, its basically the same type of boardwalk just point is a little more low key. The seagulls don't attack like at AC haha .. Theres a place called Trattoria in Manasquan, that I def. recommend, the beach is right down the road, so you can either eat there, or take it to go and go have a little picnic at the beach! .. But AC has everything so you might not even want to stop along the way!

thanks! We only have 1 night (tonight) booked, and we are leaving in an hour. We might just see if we can stay one extra night -- its funny -- all year they give us coupons for free rooms during the week, but in the summer we are off, we have to usually pay, but just a small fee.

Stay in LBI, exit 63. Or just hang out there for the day.

I'm back from AC. We had a fun mini-vacation even thought we lost all our $$ -- well not too much!
Thanks for all the suggestions, I'll keep them in mind for the future, when we aren't so last minute!
