Ok, so I wanted to move my last name to become my middle name and DMV will not do it without a legal name change or with out 6 points of ID with that name...
I went to SS office before DMV and they didn't say anything about me dropping my current middle name (Ann) and replacing it with my maiden name.
Did anyone else have this problem? My cousins all did it, no problem!

I would just go back or to a different office. I have heard of this and no one has ever had a problem.

I agree that you should go to a different office & try it there. Which one did you go to?

They told me the same thing, about the legal name change. But if you don't want to go through that you can just try a different office. GL

if it says it on your SS card, that should suffice. Thats' what I did. I brought the new SS card with my 'new' middle name & my marriage license

How annoying.
My friend who got married 2 mths before me didn't have a problem with it. I am so pissed.
AND because I let them issue me a new license with my new last name and same middle name will probably cause them to NOT want to switch it when i go back to another office.
I will wait till the soc. sec card comes in and see what happens.
