With so much negative energy this weekend spent on hurting others on this site, I thought maybe we should all say some POSITIVE stuff about fellow-brides or newlyweds and our experience on LIW.
I'll start----- I have made some REAL friendships. Not just Internet friendships, because they go much deeper than a chat room. I know that I can laugh with you, cry with you, and just plain joke around sometimes. When I am at work (and bored) I always have friends to 'hang-out' with. When my crazy b_itch aunt is doing something that truly breaks my heart I KNOW I can count on you guys for support and words of encourgement. If someone told me 5 years ago that I would feel so much love towards a bunch of girls I met on the Internet I would NEVER have believed them for a minute. But it's true. I count you all as my real friends.

I too made some really nice 'REAL' friends here and off the internet from here and some people have said wonderful things to me about my wedding, pictures and myself in general(MARY) LOL
plus the fact that we can say nice things and pray when requested for one another when we have not even met most people who ask these things the fact that we are concerned and care about for e.g. a strangers grandmother in the hospital or whether someone gets a job they went on an interview for is a wonderful thing

I am so glad that someone told me about this website. With everyones help and advice,we were able to find a great florist and I was able to vent when people were stressing me out while we were planning our wedding.

The obvious one is that I was able to plan the most beautiful day of my life in 6 months with the help of this website. Since then, I definitely feel like I have a whole other group of friends here whom I can come talk to, vent to and laugh with. The addition of the parenting board has and I'm sure will continue to support me in the next phase of my life.

but its hard to think, b/c of all the snickering and and FMs going around...

I also have gotten help on many NON related wedding things like good recommendations for restaurants, mirror people, etc... plus help from other law students to find things like w/in five minutes I got help even my DH was impressed how quickly I get answers to things!

One thing?
The one thing I love about this site is that I can come and go as I please and there are always people there to listen, ask about me, remember my stories and interests and so on! There is caring. That’s what I like.
And that I am reading again…that too!!!

I love this site for the support, the answers that I get to my question. *oh so quickly* The love I feel when I am away, and I am told how much I was missed *blushes* The way we can agree to disagree with certain deep discussion, ie Being a Parent. I love this board b/c I can be silly here and people think I am funny too I love the friendships that I have formed. I am also very happy for all the help and ideas that I received planning the biggest party of my life. LIW is my home away from home.

For the wonderful group of ladies I have met here. We laugh, vent and support each other. I speak to you guys, more that I speak to my friends that I have had for years.

I love the real sense of community that exists here.
I love that we can come & discuss things that are thought provoking & challenging & that all ideas are welcome, even if not agreed upon.
I love that I have a resource of ideas & answers to questions that could not possibly exist offline.
I love the girls that I have met, online & in person. I never would have believed it either.

When I first found this site, it was a GREAT resource. It was nice to talk about/share wedding sites, vendors, ect., that others knew, because this is a Long Island site. It led further into great friendships which I cherish, and the great advice I still receive and give to others. I NEVER thought I would be addicted to this site
But I love that I can come on here and babble about anything to you girls
I also love that now I can share my wedding experiences with others, as they did for me.

That I have made a long distance friend in Stef28! Knowing that I can come on here to pass time at work, get answers to my questions quickly whatever they may be, share some ideas and crafts. Gary laughs at me that we are married now, you don't need LIWeddings and I say there are newlyweds abd brides to be on there that I have found good common interests with, people I generally like and have fun with!!

I love that I can come on here and get great advice to questions I might not ask other people. Just the feeling that the 'girls' will know or someone has probably had this experience. It also made wedding planning even more exciting to know and share that everyone else was going through the same thing. Not everyone wants to hear about your wedding and post wedding plans everyday except you all!

There's so many things. It started out as being a great resource for planning the wedding. Weddings are filled with things that would seem trivial to people not familar with planning one but everyone here understands how it is a big deal that the postage rates were raised and an attractive stamp is not yet available.
It grew beyond just the wedding, esp after the wedding and on the NW board where every topic under the sun is discussed.
It's such a wonderful community of wonderful women!
