I live nearby & I have been to all 3. Here's MY quick synopsis:
The Cape - there are a lot of towns in The Cape. Its a large peninsula with over a dozen towns. There is the Upper Cape, the Lower Cape, etc... Every town is different. The 'best'? Hard to say
Chatham is nice. The Chatham Bars Inn is beautiful. Very $$ though. Chatham Wayside Inn is right in town & very nice as well.
People also like Falmouth. The beach there is nice & a small town.
Provincetown is at the tip of the Cape & is a thriving gay community. Tons of art galleries, parades & tons of fun.
Martha's Vineyard - very laid back. Adorable. Lots of crazy expensive summer houses. not a WHOLE lot to do. Great to go to if you have a boat as the marinas are always packed. Most places have a 3 night minimum.
Nantucket - the busiest of the 3 and possibly the most expensive. Pain in the butt to get too but worth it. If I had tons of cash & wanted a weekend getaway, I'd go there & stay at the White Elephant. Otherwise, stay at a B&B located near Main St. You want to be near town. The Summer House is nice, The Jared Coffin House is nice....
I have to also throw inmy 2 cents and suggest Newport RI

Wow-THANKYOU For this valuable info! I will start researching more with all of this in mind! We were thinking about RI as well, but I had a feeling Cape Cod was nicer, although, I could be wrong??? What do you reccomend in RI? Thanks:)

I'm biased. I'm JUST not that into the Cape. I find it completely overrated. Its very spread out. I would do Nantucket or Newport 1st and them the Vineyard.
I like Newport because everything is RIGHT there. Mansions, tours, beaches, the ocean, fishing, whale watching... all within 5 minutes. Nantucket is like that too. Compact. I don't want to have to get in my car & drive millions of miles for a decent restaurant, etc.
A lot of girls on here have been to Newport recently and all loved it. Do a search. Like I said, I'm too biased

No, we are doing it next month, probably. We are in the process of getting a house, so we are waiting to see how things pan out and then hopfully planning a little getaway. I wish you guys could come!!!

Well, I can't wait to hear what's new with you!
The house is in Huntington, but Harbor Feilds S.D. It is in a beautiful neighborhood, about two minutes from the town! I will tell you all about it when we get together:) I hope everything works out-I'm very cautious, so until we are in the door I'm not going to get too excited!
We will be closer to you guys!!!!!!!
Also, I will def. keep you posted on the dates that we decide to plan a getaway
