Our one year Anniversary is on Monday, June 2nd. I was thinking of going away for the weekend - Sat morning to Sunday night and then having a really nice night out in NYC on Monday.
What do you think? What do you recommend? I need a location nearby that we can drive to.

We went to Newport a few weeks ago. The drive was only 3 hours.
We went to Newport in late February and stayed at the same place! We had a great time!

I think the Jersey shore is nice. We stayed at a B & B called The Gables
and the Food was Delish

We've gone to Connecticut for a romantic weekend. We've also gone to Philadelphia for a 3-day weekend.
You can try Niagara Falls (3-day). Try the Fallsview Plaza, which overlooks the falls and visit the wineries to sample wines.
What about Atlantic City - some fantastic restaurants and spas there.

But I think all of these suggestions are for 3 days, not 2. I'll try to think of some 2-day getaways.

Well, there's me & Ella
Then, there are the mansions, which are gorge! You can spent your whole trip visiting mansions & def not see them all. There are so many. I love the Marble House, personally. The Breakers is also amazing. They all are.
There are beaches, helicopter tours, walking tours, the Cliff Walk ( a long path along the mansions), good nightlife, seal watching tours, The tennis hall of fame, shopping, art galleries, lots of cute B&Bs, spas... even 2 tattoo parlors. And lastly, great restaurants. Mostly seafood places but there is an awesome steakhouse too.
You can even take a ferry to Block Island for the day.
Its easy to get too. You can drive straight through from LI (it'll be about 3.5 hours from Babylon), or you can drive to Orient Point &* take the ferry to New London. The ferry ride is 1 hour 15 min & the drive is about 1 hour from New London.

We went to Mystic Conneticut once and that was great also. it wasn't an expensive hotel at all by any means but we were nto in it much. The seaport is awesome.

Oh - I forgot about Newport - it is so beautiful and romantic to just walk around. The weather is just right. Last time we'd gone, it was around Christmas time, so the houses were decorated. We might go again this summer. Thanks for the reminder!
