Need advice, I embarressed...

Need advice, I embarressed...

Okay, I sent all my Thank yous in December, within the 3 month span. Well, 2 came back because I sent one Thank you to the wrong address and one person moved.

The person who I sent to the wrong address was living in NC and then moved to TX, so it was completely my fault bec I sent it to her NC address. So, I kept putting it off to resend it. Now it is 7 months later and I still haven't sent it.

Here is the kicker: We are both in my friend's wedding in September, she is the MOH and I am a BM.

Should I send the Thank you now?? I feel like an idiot.

Any advice is so appreciated!!!

PS - She is a good friend from college and I just feel horrible. I mean she traveled from TX to NY and stayed in a hotel for 2 nights to come to my wedding. I feel so horrible!!!

I would send it and tell her that it came back to you, but you don't need to say WHEN it came back to you. I have had things get lost in the mail and come back to me months later.

Don't hesistate. 7 months isn't bad, but a year would be really late.

Do you still have the card? Just put it in a new envelope and use a post it to add your message.

I agree with the above post! re-send it along with a letter apologizing. Even if you stick the old invitation AS IS into a new envelope. Then she will see for herself when it was originally mailed.

The mail is so weird, esp. when it leaves the state. When I sent out my wedding invitations a little OVER A MONTH after I sent them I got 2 that had been sent to California back!!

I still have the original.

Okay, I am going to send it with a letter explaining what happened. I hate when I do these things, I am usually on top of things, but I just kept putting this off.

I just feel so bad, she is a really good friend from college. We traveled through Europe, I went to her wedding in NC, she came to mine, I just feel horrible.

Actually it is better that it is such a close good friend who would understand. Better her then a nasty woman on DH's side of the family or something like that!
It happens to everyone and I am sure she will understand!

Miss Manners says it is never too late to send a thank you! I would appreciate getting it even if it were that late. JMO.
