Need advice-minor thing but need new eyes

Original post by PeteysBride

Ok so a few months ago I was invited to help protcor a big exam-meanign signing people in or handing out pencils etc. The $$ seemed too good to be true; $300 for just one day of work. So I signed up because it was through a a woman who works with my aunt.

It was too good to be true. I had to go all the way out to LI 1 1/2 drive from my place for an hour and a half orientation a few weeks ago. They gave us our procedure manuals and told us we had to be there at 7am as said in the manual.

Ok.

NOW I get an email 3 days from the test saying we need to be there at 6am sharp but rpeferably 5:30am. My bus doesn't run till 5:30 am on Saturdays which means I would have to have poor Pete drive me all the way to the train (talking about 35-40 minutes) and then take that in. It takes another 45 minutes to get to the city. So I'd have to be up at least at 3:30am?

OR I can not see Pete Friday when he gets home and sleep at my parents and go from there to the city which would be an hour so i wouldnt have to be up quite so early. But either way I still would not get back to NJ till after 8pm because the thing ends at 6pm and then an hour of cleanup and THEN tryign to catch my bus...They run on the half hour on weekends so looking at maybe an 8:30 bus...

So I need advice. Am I being silly not to want to do it anymore? It is $30, and the money is always nice but we're not hurting for it.

I already gave up half of one day for the oirentation, and I'd have to give up seeing DH on Friday night (remember he is only home 3 days a week) and Saturday until pretty late.

I hate backing out of stuff last minute so I feel bad but am I beign unreasonable or am I justified here?

I need other opinions on this. TIA
