Need Advice on Web Authoring Software...

I am hoping that all you web-savvy ladies can help me. I am looking for some advice on a software package that can help DH with his webpage authoring. Right now, he does it all by hand (self-taught, I might add). Anyway, with the baby now, we want to update our webpage more often and it just takes hubby too long!

I am looking for something that can help create thumbnails of pictures and other cool stuff.
I was thinking SonicStef might have an idea or recommendation for me, since she seems pretty web savvy and creative. But, if anyone else has ideas (and prices, and where to find it!) fire away!

I use Macromedia Dreamweaver and Fireworks at work, and they are great (but pricey!) Do you have any friends or relatives in college or that work at university? There are HUGE educational discounts...

I dont know very much about HTML so I use my webservices drag and drop software because its so easy. But I do have a Dreamweaver and it has a lot of functionality that I never bothered to master but as they said - its expensive! Ive heard good things about Front Page but I dont like it.

We don't use WYSIWYG editors here at work (too much junk code) but if you wanted to use something basic, you can use FrontPage. You can also download a free HTML editor called ACE.

Dreamweaver is good, but if you're not utilizing the JSP side of it, there's no point in paying for such a large editor.

What exactly are you trying to do? Are you just posting photos, links, and text? If so, I'd try the ACE HTML editor or FrontPage.

If you really wanted to cheat, you can create a word document and convert it to a webpage. Again, massive amounts of junk code...but if it's a small page, it shouldn't impact performance.
