Need advice on wedding gift

Need advice on wedding gift

A friend of mine got married while I was on my honeymoon, so I missed it. She came to my wedding and gave a generous gift.

Do I give her a monetary gift equal to that even though I wasn't at her reception? What would you do? My DH thought $100 was enough but I dunno!!!

TIA!

In general when you dont attend a wedding, you give a little less than what you were going to give if you attended. But if she was a very close friend, I'd give her what I was going to give if I actually attended.

If she's not a very close friend, I'd probably give around $150.

my friend is getting married in september and it would just be too expensive for us to fly back -- we gave the same gift they gave us..

Since you did not attend, I would say you would give less.

We are going to a wedding next month and this person did not even give us a card let alone a gift to us for our wedding. My DH keeps saying well they don;t have a lot of money and they are just starting out. Hello - we have just graduated and gotten jobs as well and I am pretty sure you can get a card for 99 cents. I have decided we will be the bigger people and give them something anyways.
