Need Clergy Help, Please

Hi Ladies. Its me again. Ok, I told you my sister got engaged. Well, she wants to start looking at halls but I think first she needs someone to perform the wedding. Here is the situation:

Her fiance is catholic and has been married before, they are legall divorced, but in the catholic religion without an annulment....... and he has a child;

It will be my sister's first marriage and she is catholic as well.

They want to get married by a catholic priest but we don't know if one would be willing to marry them without them getting an annulment. They really don't have the time/money for an annullment right now. Also the ex-wife is a nightmare and will definitely fight it all the way. All they want is to get married and have a nice wedding. Can anyone help us as to what they can do. Or recommend someone she can speak with. PS. she wants to get married at the reception site. Thanks!
Denise

I got married by a catholic priest who left the church (do a search - you'll get so much on this topic)! He was wonderful! We got married at the reception site. The only thing is - it is not recognized in the church, nor will it ever be when you get married outside of the church (and in her case, she can't unless he gets his former marriage annulled)!
Fr. Jim Wilshere was our priest ... he charged $350 when we got married! I don't have his number at work, but if you can't find it in a search and are interested, I'll post when I get home!
Good Luck!

Cira is right, no annulment no Catholic Church recognition...sad but true

Hi Cira. Yes I found the number and gave it to her. She called him. Can you tell me if the hall charged you to get married there too? Or was it just the $350 for the priest? If you can tell me any more details, that would be greatly appreciated!

Well, the hall may charge a small fee, that all depends on the hall.
We got married at the Westbury Manor and they charged us for the flower decorations ... $500! I'd work that into the contract - maybe they can waive it before she signs - if her hall charges. Most halls do not, unless they decorate!

Where is she getting married?

And again, Fr. Jim was awesome at our ceremony - really moving and he made the ceremony personal which was important to me and Rob!

Thanks so much, Cira. Did you end up paying the $500?
