NEED HOUSE HELP LOL.....CALLING ALL HOMEOWNERS, REAL ESTATE AGENTS...
OK, hi everyone....I haven't been on in a million years (lots of stuff going on, new job, looking for a house, moved, etc, etc, etc)
So after searching for what seemed to be forever, we found a house that we like. It's not perfect, it's not brand new, but...it's an easy commute to the city and it has exactly what we need. It doesn't seem to need any major construction, it just needs to become ours with paint and getting rid of the pink carpet (Seriously, why pink?!?!). We don't live in NY anymore (NJ now), so the town is pretty good, has a good school district, and easy access to just about anything (NJ TPK, GSP, train, NYC, shopping, etc). It was on the market for $469K, they just dropped it to $459K. We wil not pay that much for this house. We are looking to spend no more than $420K. The people who lived there were relocated for work and will be completely out by the end of the month (that should give us an advantage, right?). Homesales in the area have ranged anywhere from$300's-500's in the past few months.
My question is.........
How do you know where to start your offer??? Everyone keeps saying it's a buyers market, etc....low ball, but i don't know what the hell i'm doing and quite frankly, neither does my husband
Has anyone gotten a 'deal'??? How did you do it??? Any advice would be GREATLY appreciated. I want to take advantage of this so-called buyers market, but i don't want to offend anyone buy totally low balling it like my dad suggests. Help me please!!!!
BTW, hope everyone is doing well, I hope that one day I can catch up on the boards and see what i've been missing![]()
