Need ideas quick!

Hi girls...DH & I have been going back and forth trying to decide where to go for our anniversary. We originally decided on Niagra falls, but then found out we needed passports now. We applied for them too late and will not get them in time. We are looking for a nice place, romantic, with lots of things to do and see. We were thinking vegas, but I'm afraid its too hot in August.
Amy ideas for an inexpensive and romantic getaway...last minute?

Hmmm I was in Ithaca in June, and it is beautiful! There are tons of waterfalls to swim in, places to go wine touring, cute little shops and restaurants...We had a great time.

I swam in that waterfall on the homepage of that site! It was such an amazing visit. Everyone should go at least once!

New Orleans? But that migiht be hot too.
What about Sanibel Island in Florida. Never been but had a friend who raved about it. She said it was very romantic.

I agree with Mystic or Newport. DH and I just got back last night from a 3 day trip to Westerly, RI. It's cheaper than staying in Mystic or Newport, but still in a beach town and convenient to everything. You're walking distance to the beach, about 15 minutes from Mystic and Foxwoods, 15 minutes to the Block Island Ferry and about 35 minutes into Newport. If you need any specifics, just ask.
