Need Marriage Counselor

Hi Girls!!!

My husband and I are in desperate need of a marriage counselor and we don't know where to begin looking for one. Can anyone recommend someone in Nassau County?

Do you know how much money a session will be?

I appreciate any and all help you can give me!!

Do you have health insurance? A lot of insurance companies will pay for this, you can call them and ask for a list of providers.

The Salzman Community Clinic at Hofstra offers marriage and family therapy on a sliding scale fee. I think it might be 5-10 dollars a session.

Does your company have an Employee Assistance Program? (EAP)

They are very good and very helpful!

I have an EXCELLENT counselor that very good and she's highly recommended. She does not take insurance, however, her prices are good. If you're interested you can email me at [email protected]

Just so you know, the saltzman center probably will not take any couples for therapy until September when the school year begins. Also, they really want to tape record your sessions so that they can be played during class for supervision.

Normally I would recommend them for individual counseling, but not for marriage counseling. I am a phd student in clinical psychology, so I used to be one of the therapists there.

Otherwise you can contact your health insurance for a marriage counselor under 'mental health' category. You'll need health insurance.
