Need Newlywed Advice on Registries

Could you ladies tell me where you registered and which registries were the best to deal with? Which stores had the best return policy? Which stores didn't take things off the registry when a purchase was made?

So far FH and I have registered at Fortunoff and Pottery Barn and my mom thinks we should add another somewhere further into Suffolk Cty. Any thoughts?

I registered only at Pottery Barn b/c I really wanted that stuff.

They were great about returns, exchanges, credit, etc..

BBB, Home Depot & Kohls

No problem with BBB & Kohl's

Home Depot was more of a pita because first no one in the store seems to know what they are doing and they don't have online access.

Fortunoffs has grae things abut I have had so many problems with them, I stayed on top of it so it wasnt TOO bad, but I think just about everytime we got a gift in teh mail, there was NO card so we had to call them up and track down who ave it to us, it wsa friggi pain, Im writing cusotmer service a letter. My wedding was a month ago and I am going to return some things, actually exchange, so I will know what I really think of them when I do that, it shoudl eb easy, but have a feeling its not going to be.

We registered at Fortunoffs & BBB. We had to exchange some duplicates from fortunoffs (I think people made purchases elsewhere) and they were fine with it.

I registered at Macys and Bed, Bath, and Beyond and I would totally recommend BBB for the ease of returns and cash back but not Macy's. Something was discontinued on my registry and they never contacted me about it, my aunt found this out while shopping...their on-line was not what they necessarily had in their stores either.

Be careful with BBB too because I registered a lot of the stuff on-line and different stores carry different and less items so a lot of my stuff was hard to find.

Our guests said the same thing. I think we got one or two gifts from BBB.
