Can you please post how long it took to get your marriage certificate?
Also, do you think if we were able to drop the signed marriage license off at town hall the Monday after our wedding, that would speed the process up?
(i'm asking because i need the certificate to be covered under FH's health insurance)
Can't wait to join you girls on here in 6 days

Re: Need Newlywed Help - RE: Marriage Certificate
You will be covered under DH's insurance effective your wedding day.. So if you go to the dr in the interim of waiting, you should be covered.. I know that's what they did for me with DH's insurance

It took under one week. It was there when we got back from our HM.

Ours was waiting for us when we got back from the HM. Just an FYI on the insurance thing, your coverage will be made retroactive to your wedding date. So any money you lay out for prescriptions, doctor visits, etc. should be sent to the insurance carrier after you confim they have you in the system as a member, and they should reimburse you, less the co-pay. You should check with them though to see if there are time limitations however.

Re: Need Newlywed Help - RE: Marriage Certificate
I guess it depends on where you are getting your Certificate from. My officiant mailed our license the same day and it took us 6 weeks to receive our Marriage Certificate in the mail. But... I we got our documents from the Queens Clerk's Office. Good Luck!! Have a blast at your wedding!! It's almost here!!

I believe we got ours before we got home from HM because when we got home it was in the mail that mom collected and kept safe for us.

Re: Need Newlywed Help - RE: Marriage Certificate
You can go there and bring it to them~when you get there just say you would like your marriage certificate now, if they give you a hard time just say when you called you were told that it was ok and wasnt a problem.
They gave me the run around telling me I had to wait 2 weeks like everyone else...keep in mind this was JULY almost 2 months after my wedding, so I had already waited my 2 weeks. The lady wasnt happy but they did it for me no problem
