Need prayers ladies

My dear, sweet niece (my adorable FG that you saw tons of pictures of) is having surgery tomorrow. It's really not a dangerous surgery to have, but all I can think about is how scared she'll be once she's in there.

She has a problem with double vision, so her eyes are being operated on. She won't be able to go to school for a week or do any kind of PE activities for 2 weeks. Supposedly the recovery period is not so attractive...we've heard that the eyes kind of look like the devil. Just the thought of that little angel looking like that....

I know she'll be fine...but please for her tomorrow.

This kid has been through so much- this is her second surgery. Her first was on her heart when she was 2 (she's 5 now).

I talked to her tonight and she was so cute...she kept bringing up surgery and that it's 'More bad than being sick' She did say the one good thing is once she's healed she gets to go to Build A Bear- just herself, without her sister!

Thank you all sooo much.

Everything went fine- getting her in the room and having her put under was HARD. She was hysterical, kicking and screaming. Can only imagine how scared she was and how awful it was for her parents.

They basically went in to fix the muscles in her eyes. And now her eyes look terrible- I can't see her since I'm in NJ. But with that surgery she got to come home right away. I talked to her and she was just a little whiny but she's fine. She just sees very blurry right now. And the sunlight really bothers her.

Thanks for your prayers! You know this kid means the world to me.

can i just say thinking about eye surgery makes my knees weak. ughh. my grandfather is supposed to get a needle in his eye for something and the thought of that just literally makes me feel queasyyyyyyy.

Ditto. She will be ok which you know but its always nerve wrackign when surgery is involved no matter who is going under.

Lots of love and prayers for you guys. Bring her ice cream in the hospital. She will get a huge kick out of that-like the ice cream flinstone pushpopsor something. Ice cream makes all the hurts go away.

awww Tara!! I'm sure she'll be ok, but I can understand feeling scared for her......I felt that way a few months ago and my niece was only getting a tooth pulled.....it makes you wish you could protect them from pain! your niece sounds like such a sweetie!!!
