Need some home buying info. What are some good area's

to be looking in? We would like to buy a home in Nassau but not that west.. more east. I see that
certain areas have much higher taxes.. 10k for taxes a year seems insane to me.

Where would I find out which area has decent school districts? Thanks ladies!

Mlsli.com has a section on school districts.
We were able to get a house in Plainview but the taxes are $$$
In general, I think Nassau is going to be more $$$ than suffolk, per sq. footage.

East Meadow had some of the more reasonable taxes that I had seen when I was looking (we wanted to stay in Nassau too coz our families are in Queens)
And I know that a really good section/school district there is Barnum Woods.

MLSLI has a school district rating area - you want to look at the ratio of student to teacher and the % student's getting free lunch.

As for Nassau areas to look in - I can't really help, but I know Dix Hills and Huntington Village are nice areas.

i live in floral park, but i think that might be too west for you..

i hear levittown is nice, and merrick, also bellmore
