Need Suggestions on Networking

I am presently working as a system analyst. I have been doing the same thing for three years now and I need a change.

There is a new group being formed at my company that is working on a new project. The workers are consultants and actually do not work for my company but for a consulting company.

The manager is looking for three more people

Can you all suggest what I should say to him to let him know that I am interested in being on his team.

If you have knowledge on the subject of the new project, write yourself 3 key strengths on why you would be a valueble asset. Then schedule a meeting with the manager of that project and describe to him/her your 3 key strengths. Follow up via email.. thats my best advise!

I am doing that now. I live in Va its accenture that his hiring. I am not sure that they are hiring in NY

I worked for Accenture. Actually the way it worked was I was a temp for AccountPro's and they placed me with Accenture when they were in NY assisting the UN with redefining their HR policies. I was with them for 2 weeks. Great company.

my advice would be to send the person an email (something like this)

Dear Mr. Doe,
I am currently working as a systems analyst for the Human Resources group. I have over 6 years experience and have an extensive knowledge on web designs, giving access to mainframes, and developing software (list what you know)

My most recent projects include: (list recent projects and how they helped your group)

I hope we can set some time aside and discuss this further in person.
