Thanks. I already told her last night that its not like we would order anything before she got a chance to see it but she didn't care.

Don't go. Explain to your MIL that HER daughter wants to be there with her.
If you go, you will upset your SIL...which will inturn upset your MIL and the logic will be that you should not have gone, once you learned about your SIL's feelings on the subject.

I'd say stay out of it. You are now permanently part of this family and if your SIL gets upset about this, she may hold a grudge for a long time. I know you mean well, and your heart is in the right place, but I would not do what the bride has specifically asked you not to. JMO.

Don't go then. I misread the post and thought it was for your wedding. If its her wedding, I definitely would not go.

Don't go! I realize time is short but that is SIL's problem to deal with if she doesn't want her mom to go without her.

I disagree, it is your SIl's wedding, but it is your MIL's dress. She should go whenever she wants. Only she knnows how long she needs to shop.
My mom went without me.
She never asked me to, I think b/c she knew I was busy & I live an hour away, but I would have gone if I could & she asked. I don't mind that she went without me. Her sisters went with her.

I agree with Sue here..
I think going with your MIL is only going to create a boatload of problems with everyone, and I'd rather not see you stuck in the middle!

My Mom went without me, then called me when she found it and we went together to buy it. I work late, and every Saturday counted.

I agree. Don't get in the middle of this. Even if your MIL goes by herself, it will still btw the 2 of them.

I have to agree here too! WE know that you just want to help but somehow this will all get turned around on you.

Re: Do I ignore the brides wishes???
I went with my mom on 3 seperate occasions and she didn't find anything. Then one day after a wedding shower we went to she went to Nordstroms and bought a dress there. It was beautiful and perfect for her. I wasn't mad or upset at all. We had the experience of shopping together and I am glad she found something she liked and was comfortable in.
If I were in your shoes, I would go with your MIL. But before she ordered anything, I would have your SIL see it.

Re: Do I ignore the brides wishes???
Personally, I think your MIL can make your life way worse than your SIL can by being mad at you. I'd tell MIL that it will upset SIL if you guys go without her and see what she says. If she still wants to go, go with her. This isn't your problem, it's between them. And, IMO your SIL is being a bit ridiculous - if she doesn't have time to go, why should your MIL suffer??

Glad it worked out well. I would have said to just go with your MIL. I agree that it seemed unfair that SIL had no time to go but didn't want you to go with her. Had she picked the dress and bought it w/o SIL seeing it at all then I could sort of understand her maybe being a little disappointed.

UPDATE: Ok well I went anyway. We went to one place and my mil found NOTHING. We went to another place and she narrowed it down to 2 dresses!! She didn't want to make a final decision until her daughter got a chance to see both of them and give her input. But my SIL wasnt mad ( ) and my MIL is really happy that at least now she has it narrowed down and will be able to order it this week!
Glad to hear it worked out!! Maybe your SIL was just having a little bridezilla moment the other day when she said she didn't want you to go.
