Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

Was it very annoying after you were done with the ceremony? I am rethinking my cathedrial veil only because I am afraid people are going to step on it or trip as I'm leaving the church. I know, stupid thing to worry about but any feedback is appreciated. If you could do it again would you still wear it?

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

I didn't think it was annoying at all...

We were the last to leave the church so no one could step on it. And it's so light, it usually blows in the wind.

But I would definitely still wear it! I loved it!!!

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

I wore a 'chapel' length veil but its close to cathedral length.

I absolutely loved the 'drama' of a long veil and would definitely wear it again.

That being said, I had no plans of wearing it to the reception - so that was not a consideration in deciding. If you plan on wearing a veil to the reception, i think a catherdral one will be quite impoosible to dance with on.

I loved mine! It looks beautiful in the pics. I took it off before entering the reception.

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

i had a cathedral veil and to be honest it was SO annoying! i kept sitting on it and flinching at the church and then at the pictures it was blowing all over the place (i took it off early on during pictures). however, i love the way it looked and would wear it if i had to do it all over again!

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

Like Stef I had a chapel length veil...and I loved it.

I knew that I didn't want to wear my veil during my reception so I didn't have to worry about that. I did get kind of tired carrying it around though as I was getting ready but I would definatly wear it again.

The only problem I had with my veil was that people kept tugging on it when they went to give me a hug in our receiving line....but I think that would happen with any length veil.

Thanks ladies - I wasn't planning on wearing it at the reception, I also bought a fingertip one for that. But I appreciate the feedback for the church and WILL wear it

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

I loved mine. There's nothing like the drama of a cathedral veil!! I took it off after the ceremony. It didn't get in the way of anything at all. Here's a cool pic of me leaving the ceremony.

I wore a cathedral lenght for photos and then a 2-tier elbow length for ceremony and reception. I wish I could wear it everyday...I love the look of a beautiful veil.

Re: Newleyweds - for those of you who wore cathedrial veils

I say go for the cathedral length veil - it is beautiful!

Michele - I thought you wore a fingertip veil? Elbow is really short...I don't remember yours being so short

I wore a Cathedral. It was so beautiful and elegant as it trailed behind you. The pictures came out so nice. Once I went into the reception it came off.
