We painted our apartment in very warm earthy tones and we added nice window treatments to every single window we have. DH's granmother just made me beautiful drapes in a heavy fabric for my den.
It looks more cozy that a lot of my friends apartments who have white walls and no window treatments.

my apt feels most like 'home' when we're having dinner together at the table and just talking about how our days went. Also, when we're all together just relaxing watching a movie.

hmmm...candles. I love candles!
And, I am SO into the decorative things- we have A LOT of artwork around the condo- from different places we've traveled to, some are photos that are framed.
AND, seasonal bedding, seasonal towels, I put up decorations for every holiday!

Aside from the pictures and little memoirs we pick up, I like to bake something on the weekends... Makes the house smell yummy.

Ditto with the fresh flowers. Plants, pictures and having a clean apartment really helps to make it feel like a home.

We like to decorate with things from our trips- mostly prints. On one of our first trips we got a print of Hemingway's house in Key West. We bought a beautiful map of St. Lucia when we were on our honeymoon, and we also got a neat poster from the Milwaukee Irish Fest last summer. And we bought and framed the window cards from a few shows that we've seen together.
