Newlyweds... Lets flash back a little...How did DH propose???

I was just taking pictures of my proposal...Ill post ina bit... and I would love to read how u guys got engaged!!!!

I know alot of your stories but I would love to read them again!!

If u couldn't tell from my screen name...

FH proposed to me on an out of the blue snapple cap....

brb ill post a pic and explain!

We decided on July 4, 2007 that we were 'official'

The following year, on our 1st anniversary FH proposed at 8:45 in the morning, we were in our pjs, with coffee and bagels. We had just woken up.

He had a little message I wrote on a post it a few months prior-he made into this glass light up cube.

He made me close my eyes and then open when we got to the table..

The note said 'I will definitely say yes'

I was paralyzed and everything else was a blurr for the next hour.

It was perfect!!

And then I had an ugly cry and the residual eyeliner from the night before was pouring down my face

DH proposed to me on 12/25/08. DH 'tricked' me by wrapping a bunch of presents and bringing them to my parents house. He kept me waiting until 8 p.m. Christmas Day night to let me open my presents. When I got to open my 1st present - there was a DVD inside - DH took it out and put it into our laptop computer and played it for me - on the DVD was a powerpoint of all different pictures of us throughout our 5 year relationship. In the powerpoint was a song by the country singer John Berry - 'Will You Marry Me?' - and the lyrics to the song were incorporated into the slides of the powerpoint as well. DH stood behind me as I watched and listened in disbelief. When it was over, DH spun me around, got down on one knee, took out the ring and asked me to to marry him, asked me to be his wife. I was shaking and crying as he put the ring on my finger. Of course I said 'YES!' I asked DH if anyone else knew & he told me that only my dad & his parents knew. I was so touched that DH had asked for my dad's hand before asking for mine. I then asked DH if we could go downstairs and tell everyone (for most of my family was still there) and DH said 'of course.' I went downstairs & my brother saw me 1st - and saw the tears on my face & asked if everything was ok - when I showed him my hand w/the ring - his eyes got as big as teacups & he bearhugged me off the floor. Then DH & I went into the dining room/family room and told everyone - 'We need your attention - we have an announcement to make - WE'RE ENGAGED!' and everyone jumped up out of their seats and was clapping and cheering & crying & hugging & kissing & cameras were going off like it was the Oscars. It was truly the best night of my life & our lives!

(Side note - this was really extra special b/c DH had been married once before & SWORE he was never going to get married again after being burned so badly from his 1st marriage - so I had resigned myself to the fact that we would & could just live together & still be happy. Secretly I prayed & prayed that he would change his mind. I had NO idea he was even thinking about marriage again, that's why him proposing was one of the best days in my life!)

Awe.. soooo cute

I came home from work one day and DH was all dressed up.. cooking a very nice dinner and there were 6 dozen roses in the house.... but I honestly didnt think anything of it bc we had an argument the day before so I thought maybe he was just being cute and apologizing. After dinner we took a walk to the beach and hung out. I had a feeling maybe he was goign to ask me but he didnt so I just went back to thinking that he was just being cute. We went back home and i put on some sweat pants and sat on the couch and next thing I know he is in front of me on his knee... I dont even remember what I said I know i was jumping up and down on the couch like a crazy person.

we called my parents and they came over and we all went out for drinks to celebrate.

DH proposed to me while on vacation in Costa Rica. We had reservations for dinner at one of the resorts restaurants and he said we should take a walk on the beach since it was our last night there. We then sat down watching the ocean and the moonlight. he then asks me what would be the ideal way for him to propose if he would and I said well anyway would be perfect. So he turns me around and says well will you marry me? My response was you must be joking, LOL!!! I didnt think he would bring the ring overseas and then leave it in the room the entire time. It was perfect!!!

DH and I have known each other since HS. We dated for a little while after HS but then after we broke up we lost contact with each other. We reconnected in 2006...I was living in NY and he was in NC. Within 2 months of reconnecting DH packed up his stuff and moved to NY..that was 3 years ago.

I never really wanted to get married but I always knew I wanted to have kids. DH wanted to be married before we had kids so I said that I want a house before we get married and have kids. So last year we bought a house. I also always told him that if he were to propose I did not want it to be on a holiday or a birthday or anniversary...if it was a random Tuesday and I was washing dishes that would be perfect to me!

So the Sunday Morning between Christmas and New Years of last year DH and I were hanging in our PJ's and he asked me if I wanted to play a game of pool (We have a pool table upstairs). So I said sure! We go upstairs and begin to play. He breaks and the cue ball goes into the pocket where a ball always gets stuck and you have to tap it so it will go down. I 'happened' to be near the pocket so DH said to tap it down...I did and he began to laugh. I said to him what are you lauging at and he comes over and pulls the ring box out of the pocket and says...you were supposed to pull this out when you tapped the ball. Well...I totally didnt feel the ring box because it was velvet and it felt just like the inside of the pocket.

So he opened the box and just stood there....I began to laugh and he handed me the box. I was still laughing and said to him are you serious and handed the box back to him and he said yes I am serious. So I said well you didn't ask me...so then he asked me and of course I said yes! The entire time we were both laughing. I guess laughter is our thing because we both laughed through the entire wedding ceremony too!

I knew it was coming and I knew he had a plan. The weekend before he proposed we went to FI for dinner so I dressed up all pretty thinking, this is it. It would have been but the ring didn't come in on time.

The next weekend June 20, DH was supposed to be away with his brother, but his brother got appendicitis and landed in the hospital. So we headed off to the NJ Shore last minute. DH brought the ring but wasn't sure if and what he would propose that night.

We went to Waters Edge, a tiki bar, our favorite place for dinner and got crab cakes and pina colodas on the water. While we were sitting there this old couple was dancing, the guy with a walker. I said I hope that was us someday. DH decided then and there he was proposing that night. Funny thing is some of his boating friends were at the bar and I couldn't believe he didn't want to stay. We went home and I changed into jeans and t-shirt, threw my hair up in a pony tail. Of course that was how I would look when he proposed.

He suggested we go for a walk on the beach. It was a perfect clear night with the stars lighting up the sky. DH had his arms around me. We were talking about all the things that were going wrong in his life, with his dad. I said to him, I wish their was something I could do to make things better for you. With that he spun me around, got down on one knee and said there is, you can marry me.

I was so excited (and nervous for the ring he was holding over the sand.) Of course I said yes right away.

LOL, not very romantic but it was our first apartment together. We moved into a studio apt with a balcony when we graduated from college. After almost two years living together, he talked about the future and how he want to spend the rest of his life with me. And he proposed to me at the balcony. It was unexpected and sweet!

DH and i host a tree trimming party for Christmas. I go all out with plain ornaments for people to decorate. So most of our friends were at our house and a couple of friends were ready to leave. He jumped up, went to get the ring out of its hiding place, and cut off my friends right before leaving. He told them they couldn't leave yet. He said something about gathering everyone in my dining room. And I was complaining cause it was hot and there were too many of us. I thought he was trying to get a group photo (dunno why but that's what I thought) and he turns around and starts saying something about being happy to have our friends over and that he loved me a lot and I don't know what he said after that. I just remember someone yelling 'what's your response?' I yelled 'Yes' and he hugged. My parents had known all long so they had cake and flowers waiting for the right time.

DH planned it well cause Christmas is my favorite time of the year, however he managed to catch me totally of guard. :)

P.S. Some of our friends knew in advance so they took the pictures.

well everyone was celebrating easter and I am jewish and we have alotof jewish friends. It was our friends bday on easter. The night before we were going out to the club and said to some ppl that were in our car lets go out for dinner. They said ooo we going outfor guys bday you should come. I turned around to dh and said that ok right, he said yes. The next day our friend kept calling and telling us the plans of the night and we didnt end up making dinner reso till 930 I went home to get read ysince I was at dh all day. I took his car and told him to call me when you are going over and ill meet you there. Well he never called and when I called him he said he was already there. I got soo upet at him becuase how can you forget to call me when you were leaving. well when we got there I stop being upset with him. the whole night was a blast just having dinner with about 13 friends. Well my back was faced toward were the waiter would come in. My friend left to smoke I kept telling my friends to tell waiter to put a candle in dessert. They said we already taken care of it. Welllllll when they started to bring out the dessert with candle and everyone is singing happy birthday all of a sudden the waiter starts to put down the cake in front of me and i scream NO NO NO IT IS NOT MY BIRTHDAY then I look down and it says WILL YOU MARRY ME? i turn to see dh on his knees with a kool aid smile..
After that people would stop quoting me
