Newlyweds need apartment

Newlyweds need apartment

Sadly, DH and I have to move (the owner sold our apartment)

Our lease is up December 1 but we will be able to get out one month early so we are looking now. I am so sad that the housing market's the way it is because we can not afford a home just yet.

We are looking for an apartment but it difficult with what we need.

1) 2- bedroom
2) close to LIRR (preferrably walking distance)
3) parking for cars- if only one space than street parking must be available.
4) looking to spend between $1300-$1550.

Any leads greatly appreciated. Trying to avoid a realtor fee.

DH and I have lived in multiple Heatherwood community properties and they were always FANTASTIC.

Check them out:

Have you ever checked out the FairHaven apartments? They have some that are really close to the RR and about that price

Re: Newlyweds need apartment

DH and I are giving up our apartment in Lynbrook at the end of October. We're moving into our new house, so we may move even earlier than that. Unfortunately, it's only 1 bedroom. SORRY!

It's a small apartment, but it suits us just fine. It's 1BR, but has an extra room that we use as an office. It has an EIK, living room, and access to the attic for storage.

It's walking distance to the Centre Avenue train station, which is on the Long Beach line. (And by walking distance, I mean 3 short blocks) We both commute to work in the city. There is driveway parking for 2 cars. We pay $1300. I can't imagine rent would go up that much more.

It's the second floor of a 2-family house. The owners (a young couple) live downstairs and are very nice. We were hesitant about living in a 2-family house, but it worked out great for us.

We aren't breaking out lease (moving out at the end of it), so I'm in no way motivated to find people for them to benefit myself. I will say it sounds smaller than what you are looking for, though. Sorry! Just wanted to throw it out there just in case. We downsized bigtime when we moved there to save for a year for the wedding and the house. Good luck!
