Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
Hi all. I have about less than a month and a half to go before the big day- Yay!!!!!- NOTDid any of you feel like- why am I even bothering.
Do not get me wrong I love my Fh immensely and I cannot wait to be his wife, but lately everything and everybody is getting to me. People not responding on time, people asking to bring extra people, just little stupid things. I even snapped at my FH yesterday and told him I wish we were not doing this. I felt so bad!!!
I really wanted to just go away and have an intimate ceremony- but he wanted a big party- so we compromised , but I feel as though I am putting so much time and energy into this thing and no one is going to appreciate it.
Sorry for the vent.

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
About 6 weeks before the wedding, and again 2 weeks before, I asked my DH if we could just cancel the wedding and go somewhere private and get married. I was so overwhelmed with the planning and work unexpectedly got so crazy and hectic (as a teacher June is an easy month but I had to be an administrator for over a week and it ****ed!!!). If I was not snapping at DH and his mother, I was too busy crying. It's just the stress and you're going to feel major ups and downs but everything will come together at the end. The most important things you need are your FH, marriage license, and someone to marry you. All the rest are extras. And you will have a great and relaxing time at your wedding!

Kysha, I wanted it over and done with, but once the day is here you will be glad you did it. PS and this too shall pass. It will be ok, keep your head up girl and keep it all in to perspective. At times it might seem overwhelming, stand back and remember why you are doing this. DOn't let anyone steal your joy of this memorable time. IT will be wonderful come your wedding day.

Your welcome! And remember to take a moment for yourself! I ran a couple of 5k races and went to the gym because it seemed to be the only things I could do for myself that was not wedding-related!

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
I definitely felt that way. I felt overwhelemed and frustrated with people's seeming lack of concern (no responses/late responses, etc.) over a day that I was working so hard to make special. I can honestly say that a few times toward the end I really lost focus and felt like why am I even bothering.I did much of the planning myself, so a part of me was very annoyed with FH and unfortunately, that annoyance turned into a few arguments/misunderstandings.
I definitely concur with the other ladies though, that the actual day is so worth it. It was so magical and wonderful and all of the annoyances beforehand seemed far away and insignificant.
Keep your chin up and remember that there are plenty of people here to lend support when you need it

Have no fear - you are normal! The shock of it all!
I think all brides go through this. I know 3 weeks before our wedding I had a meltdown and cried, and said 'I just don't want to plan a wedding anymore!' I was just a little stressed out over little things, like the programs and getting the favors done. . .after that, I was fine and as cool as could be.

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
I thinkn it's perfectly normal! I did the same thing. I actually went so far as to figure out how much money we would lose if we cancelled the wedding.
But I am so glad we had the wedding - it was a wonderful day that I will cherish for the rest of my life

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
The whole month before the wedding was by far the werst of all the planning. I was very stressed and everything was bothering me. So I know how you feel and it is very common so don't worry. It's just that there is so much to think of that last month.

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
Kysha. First of all hugs
I totally felt like this too. Before my wedding I had a motto 'people ****'. People don't respond, they want to bring extra people, my mother in law was giving me grief about the table arrangements, I wasn't happy with alterations etc. etc. Planning a wedding is very stressful and although my husband was extremely helpful, we still fought. I just felt like NO ONE undertstood the pressure I was under. My nerves were SHOT!!! Anyway sometimes I wish I could do it all over because I LOVED my wedding day but hated the stress involved so I'd like to do it the 2nd time around without all the planning!

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
Absolutely!!The week before the wedding, I had the same repsonse to everything that came up, everything that went wrong..... 'I don't care. I just want to get married.'
I must have said it about 20 times on the wedding day, too.
Limo was broken... 'I don't care. I just want to get married.'
People were late....
It rained.... 'I DONT CARE! I JUST WANT TO GET MARRIED ALREADY!'
It was a good attitude to have believe it or not, because it prevented me from really stressing out or freaking out about things.
Don't worry. What you're feeling is normal.

Re: Newlyweds- the month before your wedding- question?
Hey Kysha
I miss you !!!!!!
You know I was so overwhelmed after a while. Between 2 deaths, people trying to invite themselves, not getting RSVPs in time, kicking ppl out of my BP, the drama with the tuxes, I was DONE !!!!
But I just always thought about my end result, and when my day came, it was worth every single ounce of stress. I wish I could have my day back. I watch my UNEDITED video over and over. I would go through it all again.
The day of you'll be soooo happy that you'll forget all that you went though
