Can anyone recommend some nice restaurants in Newport? Both times DH and I went there we went to the flipping Red Parrot because we were pressed for time, but now we're staying overnight and have more time for nightlife, woot! We're thinking of the Cooke House...but are there any others we should consider? We are staying over a Saturday night, but leaving late enough on the Sunday that we might be able to do 2 dinners. TIA!

Re: Newport Restaurants
I love Newport. We go there by boat all the time and spend a few days there. In fact my parents are going next week and I would be going with them except Jason really wants to spend a week down at the NJ Shore (which we are doing the following week.) I would rather go on the boat trip personally.
How fine dining do you want? If you want an upscale romantic experience head to Castle Hill Inn. It's beautiful.
The Black Pearl Restaurant on Bannister's Wharf is a great place to eat. The food is good and its in the middle of the bustle of Newport.
My parents have eaten at Le Bistro Newport and they love it.
22 Bowens is great but a little more pricey. DH took me on a date there once when we were dating, he met me when I was in Newport with my family and took me there. It was delicious.
For casual food, fun atmosphere and fun drinks try Brick Alley Pub. For 2 you shouldn't need a reservation.
For going out his the Newport Blues Cafe.

Re: Newport Restaurants
Thanks! Since we might be able to swing 2 dinners time wise, we'll probably do a fine dining for the first night and a more casual yet still nicer than Red Parrot for the second night. I'm going to google all these...keep the suggestions coming!
