Newsday!

won't run my wedding annoucement. We had our reception in LI, but we don't LIVE in LI, so they won't run it! And, I'm not getting my photo back!

NEVER, did it say ANYWHERE that we must LIVE in LI...I made a copy of all of the info that they sent me and that I sent back. It never said that we must LIVE in LI...

After she went through ALL of my info and had me spell everything for her, she said, 'Oh, wait...you don't live in LI?' I said, 'No, we had our reception in LI.'

She just said, 'Oh, you have to live in LI. Sorry.' and then she hung up!

yes, there is. We are running it in that one. I am just mad that they never said anything about where we have to live and they don't return the photos...at least if they were running the announcement, I wouldn't care about the photo...but I may as well have ripped it up and thrown it out

WHAT??????? I am almost POSITIVE I've seen ones where the couples do not currently live on LI.

ETA: Call her every five minutes until she returns your photo!!!

Do your parents live on LI? They will run it if your parents live there.

nope, we have most of our aunts, uncles, and cousins in LI...that was a big reason why we had the reception there. but, not us and not our parents. I had everything clearly written on all of my forms. I don't understand why she didn't say something right away. She went through all of my info with me and then was just like, 'Oh, you don't live in LI?!'

That is such BS because two weeks ago I read an announcement where the couple got married at a resort and it stated they BOTH live in Bermuda!!!!

I read that same one! I also remember reading often about couples who live in other states, but maybe their parents did live on Long Island. That stinks, sorry.

Yes that is what the issue is. They will run it if you don't live on LI but one of your parents do....

I am almost certain that I have read announcements when the couple lives somewhere else. I would call again and speak to someone else.

I think it has nothing to do with that they live out of state...i think they would not do it because their parents are not from LI....i think its either or...

Oh, I know. That's why I'm so mad. If the form also said that either myself or my parents had to live in LI in order for them to run the announcement, I would never have sent them the photo. I may as well have thrown it in the garbage.

I agree the form should specify that before you go filling it out and sending a picture.
