NFP???

NFP???

So not to share too much personal info, but DH and I are not ready to start a family just yet, but i am concerned that I have been on the pill for a very, very, long time.....
we are looking into options so i can safely go off the pill, let my body take back control, but still not have a baby until we are ready....
so i was doing some research and found several studies about Natural Family Planning being about 97% effective for both conceiving and avoiding conceiving when done correctly......
do you have any thoughts or suggestions, pros or cons, or any useful information for us???

i do not use this... but i know there are a lot of girls on here who do

i felt the same way you do about the pill... for now, we use just condoms... have been for about 10 months now & never had any issues

DH does not want 2 use condoms now that we are 'married' i guess he thinks that is his right now....

I was on the pill for quite some time and was nervous I would have a hard time getting pregnant when we were ready. We knew that I would stop a few months prior to the wedding and the doctor suggested six months to give my body time to adjust...so after that we just tried to be really careful, condoms and all that good stuff.

We use the rubbers as well. For us its just better to be safe then sorry.

Haa i just read this...I wrote in my reply condoms but honstely we used them 1x and I recently just threw them out !

I heard that it is very effective when used correctly - I plan on using it when I go off the pill BUT only because at that point it would be 'okay' for us to get pregant if an accident happened.

As much as I dont want to I think I will stay on BC for a few more months and then just wing it

you chart your bodies natural signs, daily basal body temp, cervical moisture and you can see your window of fertility to try and get pg or not....

there is alot more to it but that is the summary

Getting pg is ONLY possible during that window of fertility, so 'NFP' is really just keeping track of your cycle.
