My office sent an e-mail that they never close unless Bloomberg declares a state of emergency If I don't come into the office I have to take a vacation day - boo!! I am come in from NJ so not looking forward to the commute tomorrow.
Anyone else have to work tomorrow??

Re: No snow day
So far we have regular opening with an early dismissal which makes NO sense to me but we will see what they decide...
I might not go in if we are open...i am terrified of driving in snow and my commute is yucky as is!
Good luck if you go in tomorrow hun!

Re: No snow day
I have to come in, too.
To make it worse, DH's office NEVER closes . . . until now. So, of course, he's giving me the don't you dare risk life and limb lecture. Easy for him to say when his office is closed.
I can't even take a personal day because I just blew through 2 of my 3 weeks of vacation time for my surgery.
Just be careful tomorrow!

Re: No snow day
Not only do I not get a snow day (I work in a hospital) but I get 'talked to' if I call in tomorrow. It counts as a vacation day which I don't mind using but I'm not 'supposed' to ... so I am trying to figure out what to do tomorrow.
DH is off tomorrow and Thursday already ... he is a federal employee.

Re: No snow day
They should atleast let the people that take the train either have the day off or leave early. the trains arent going to run if the snow is over 10' and thats what must places are thinking of. the Commute is gonna be crazy tomorrow on the way home.

Re: No snow day
I doubt my office will close but if it snows a lot I am just using a vacation day.. I know my boss will be upset but I have a back injury and I am not risking falling and REALLY hurting myself... I would hope she would rather me be out one day than laid up in bed for a month with a broken bone.

Re: No snow day
My office will be open, but unless my boss shows up on my front doorstep on his way to work to bring me there himself, I don't know if I'll be going. I was told to call before coming...worst case I go in and leave in a few hours and then work from home, but it's pointless as far as I'm concerned. Our catalog company is in PA and they're not going to be working tomorrow either, so nothing is going to get done. I'm terrified to drive in in my car.

Re: No snow day
I have the same thing... I have to take a vacation day unless it's a State of Emergency. BOOOOOO.
Our director basically told us it was fine to stay home, but I'd enjoy it much more if I didn't have to use my time off.

Re: No snow day
I was told in order to not show, the snow has to be significant. Well whats significant??? Anything where I can't see thru it?!
I'm not going into the city to get stuck there. Thats the bottom line. Not happenin!!!!!!!!!
