one fo the people I work for just tld me he isn't voting. I wanted to be like ' you will now have no right to complain about the government!' I know its not important to alot of people- especially to a lot of undecided people. But we are so fortunate to have voting as a right that I feel people have a responsibility to do it!

I feel the same way and my opinion those who don't vote have no opinion and when a problem comes up i don't want to hear what they have to say

Re: not voting...
I completely agree- even if you hate both candidates, pick the lesser of two evils and get out and vote- either way one of them is going to be president- someone not voting wont change that

Re: not voting...
I'm not voting because I am very undecided...I did my research and I still could not come up with who I would want to be president. I don't like either one of them to be honest ...This is the first time Im not voting.

This bothers me so much. People don't understand that this is NOT a right, its a privilege. And just cause we live in a democratic state doesn't mean your vote doesn't count.. I don't get people... I just don't

Yea but the funny thing is that they are always the first to complain.

Re: not voting...
I have been soooooooo undecided this election. Even today I have flip flopped a couple times on who to vote for. But Im still going to vote. i might go in, for example, saying Im def voting for McCain and then at the very last moment end up voting for Obama. But Im still voting! I just feel its a responsibility. Although I'd feel better if there were candidates whose ideas I agreed with!

I don't know why people get so upset with people who don't vote. It's a right not a requirement.
I am voting but I would never be upset or angry with someone who didn't.

Im not upset or angry- I just know people who don't vote and then all they do is complain about the president or politicians in congress and the senate. I dont think they should complain if they didn't vote. But I understand how if you really can't make up your mind that you dont want to vote- cus you don't care either way. Thats fine its just something I personally wouldn't do.

I cant speak for other people, but it annoys me because we are priveleged to be able to vote. And while I agree with you that its a right- its also our civic duty.

Re: not voting...
on another post someone said they don't vote basically because of the electoral college. I bet this is why many people don't vote. I don't agree with the system myself. I believe the popular vote should be what matters. I think if it changed, more people would vote!
Edited because I s*ck at typing!

Plus, it's who you vote into Congress that matters more than the President. They are actually the ones with the power.

I disagree- the president signs all legislation into law and they also appoint all supreme court justices- both of which are key.

Re: not voting...
I don't vote but I also don't complain about this country and the way things are done. I frankly don't know enough about either candidate to vote factually, so if I did go to vote, I'd end up closing my eyes and hitting a random button (or pulling a lever or whatever you do). When I say that to people, they say 'Ok then it's better you don't vote if you're going to do that!' Sorry, ladies.

Re: not voting...
It definitely is a choice, and I know people who don't vote but what can you do. Some who don't vote for example are republicans living in NY and they just always feel that no matter what the democratic party will always win in NY so why bother. I know when I vote that my candidate might not win but I do it regardless, i don't know but i love my right to vote so I like doing it. Others also just think that it doesn't matter who wins that they're all the same and same system so why bother.
I definitely do feel that if all those people who don't vote would actually vote then it would make a big difference as to who wins the election.

Re: not voting...
i don't mind when people don't vote . I really don't care what other people do . In fact, I prefer the ' undecided' to stay home for various reasons that I don't want to get into now .

Re: not voting...
It bothers me too. Like a PP said, one or the other is going to win and not voting won't change that...I never agree 100% with any candidate but I always pick the one that more closely matches my values and beliefs and vote for her/him. I feel that my vote counts and even if the candidate I voted for doesn't win, at least I did what I could to change things.

Jenn, my love... I couldn't agree with you more. Voting is definitely a right and a privlage but I would never expect someone who is so undecided to just game time it and flip a coin... because honestly, that's not the right way to do it either.
PS... I voted, but I firmly stand behind one candidate than another and always have.
