Nothing like a little IDENTITY THEFT to make your day!
forgot to tell you ladies---since i was basking in my bpics glow hehe---but looks like my debit card number was STOLEN!!
i went to use my card last nite at rite aid...and it was denied. of course i'm freaking out cause duh, i have plenty of moolah in the acct. i call Chase and they tell me they put a block on my account due to suspicious activity on it. they left a msg on my machine (that i never check) about it. turns out that while i was posing away in NYC on saturday for my pics.....someone fuking jackassss in Louisiana was chargin 3 transactions of $99 EACH at a gas station!!!!
so they closed my card--and i have to wait for another one, which sux so hard cause i LIVE by my chk card. luckily DH's will work on the account. and hopefully by tomorrow the nearly $300 will be put back!
i'm so effing bitter....i HATE identity theft douches and i WISH i could slash their throat for it.

That stinks sorry.
I had this happen to me last week w/my visa - They were charging all small amounts for over 3 months. I didn't pick up on it until I started getting Books sent to me at my office and some fat burner vitamins I don't even read and I hate to swallow!

That is awful. Thank goodness your bank put a hold on your account. I'm sure being denied was a bit embarrassing but not as bad as having your account emptied .
If anyone stole my bank card they would be pisssed about the lack of funds .

That's one of the reasons I refuse to get a debit card. I use old fashioned cash or my Amex card.

yeah see i use online access like its going out of style---always checking that bad boy. it just so happened that i even checked on saturday nite---it had my atm withdrawal pending--but the gas station stuff wasn't shown even as pending yet. (fuking louisiana must be behind or some shiiit)
so i didn't use the card sun. or monday---i did my bills on sunday with my Quicken program...so i hadn't viewed my bank info online yet. i would have done it today in that case since i was using the chk card for Rite Aid. i am like SOOOOO into checking EVERY single card/acct online! (ING, Chase, credit, store cards, etc)
i have NO IDEA how they got my card #! i shop securely online at like old navy mostly if i buy clothes, and ocasionally at like best buy. i do remember hearing that some people got into dave & buster's files and stole a bunch of CC/debit card #s and were using them....i have gone to D&B a few times, so i wonder if that might have been it. i told the chase operator about it.
its just so frustrating!

Re: Nothing like a little IDENTITY THEFT to make your day!
People are such a-holes! Last year someone cashed an almost $200 check from my account - but when I viewed the check online from my bank account, it was like a digital check, computer generated to some F-ing company I never ever heard of. Yep, some dickkwad made a payment FROM MY ACCOUNT. Lovely.
Also, another time someone was able to buy a couple of metrocards with my card number - how, I do NOT know. They blocked my card and told me why, had to get a new card etc. like you're going through. F-ing sucksasss.

I have a theory that you shouldnt use the debit card and put your pin. There has to be some transaction log that the machine stores in it and put that together with the security cameras that are all around seeing everything. people can be very crafty. That happened to my friend she used the PIN everywhere and i swear thats what they did. I am paranoid too as you can see.
Mean people Succk

Sorry that happened to you... you will get the money back once you dispute it..
The effed up thing is that I see stuff like this all the time at the bank I work at and all the transactions are at gas stations.. its so sad that people are stealing debit cards and using them at gas stations now.. our economy is that sad

OMG I'm so sorry Melissa! That is the worst feeling!
Mine wasn't identity theft but when my debit card was stolen, it was just an awful feeling that people can be so nasty.

That suckks!! I'm obsessive about checking all of our accounts too.Chase actually send me daily emails of what my debits and deposits were for the day and also my ending balance. That way even if I don't log on I still see what's going on. You can do that right on the website.
Glad they caught it and your getting your dough back!!!
