Now for the fun part....

my parents sold their house and we are planning to get a mother-daughter. So now the fun begins...but where do we start??? where do we go to get pre-approved? Can we start looking at houses without it??
I feel so helpless but at the same time really excited that we will be getting our house earlier than expected!!

LISA!!

Hi girl! How are you? I am doing good! Things are getting really stressful! Less than three months and I have two showers, moving in to our house (we closed on 4/1/02), and just the general wedding things!

I am so happy that you guys may be getting a house...how exciting. I wish you luck...and will probably have some questions for you soon!

Take care-
Nancy

What you'll need to do...

A pre-approval is very easy to get. (You can get it from any bank or lender) Look in the real estate secition on Friday.
However, you can look at homes but if you put a bid in on one they will probably ask you for your pre-approval letter. We were looking for a long time without one... we used to just say yes we have one.
Where are you starting to look?

we are looking in the HOltsville, Holbrook , Ronkonkoma areas.
I hope we find something! :)

Lisa Rose - western south shore Suffolk...

Those are some of the areas we looked! We ended up buying in Sayville. One word of advice - be sure to check out where the house is in relationship to McArthur airport and the flight patterns. We considered one place in Bohemia until we realized it was right under the flight path!

We got our pre-approval letter quickly from the mortgage broker we ended up using. She asked us a series of questions about our income and debts and printed out an estimate of the loan amount we would be approved for. This gave us a good idea of how much we could afford. If you want to try our broker, her name is Christine Proebster at Preferred Empire Mortgage. 631-547-5151 or better - page her and punch in your number - she's easiest to reach that way. 516-793-5035. We used Prudential in E. Islip - our agent is Mary Ellen. We have a good real estate lawyer too, if you want her name. Good luck with your search!

Hi Lisa Rose

Glad to hear things are going well. Dont worry about the pre-approval. I did ours over the phone. If you have a relationship with a bank thats all it takes.

I am sure you will find something out that way on the island. My BIL lives in Ronkonkoma. There are a lot of new homes going up out there. Best of Luck.

How long was your parents home on the market? We are trying to convience our parents to sell thier house in N.Babylon too.
