we are moving out of MIL's house on thursday. yay, right? this morning I notice clover is scratching herself fervently. i look at her more closely and i notice black specks like crusty stuff all over her fur. so i did a little research and i text dh at work 'i think she has fleas' so he tells me eh how could that be possible she's an indoor cat, and helmut and bear get treated monthly. see if you can find an actual flea on her. so i look and look (she has LOT of fur) and yep, i found a flea. i screamed. MIL yells up the stairs 'are u ok?'
soooooo i go down and i'm like clover has fleas! so she's like well we treat all the animals how could that be? and... ready for it?....
SFIL is like 'oh, i stopped giving the cats the flea treatment a few months ago. i guess I shouldn't have done that.'

So now, we're in the midst of scrambling to packup all of our stuff and we have FLEAS!!! I AM NOT TAKING FLEAS TO MY NEW HOUSE!!!!!!!
words just don't even explain how angry i am.
anyway i called the vet and picked up medicine and gave it to all 3 cats. it's supposed to work within 12 hours, so... hopefully it's working. and hopefully i didn't pack any fleas.

That really sucks after the meds you can use dawn to bathe the kitty in if you dont want to use the flea bath stuff just to make sure there gone., pooor kitty

thanks everyone. i hope they're gone. after i gave her the treatment i noticed her scratching herself a few hours later and the fleas were flying off, mostly dead. like each flea was 90% dead and when i went to pick them up with tweezers .... damn those things are hard to kill!!!!

Fleas are a PITA. So is your MIL.
At least you're rid of the fleas and almost rid of her (on a daily basis, anyway)

i am seroiusly contemplating giving her the vet bill. i hope she has fleas.
