Now that the wedding is over, what did you do with

Now that the wedding is over, what did you do with

all your vendor paperwork? The contracts, receipts, etc...I know I need to keep the photo and video paperwork until I receive my enlargements, album, and video, etc. But what about the paperwork for the DJ, dress, florist, Jericho Terrace, and such? Should I just shread that stuff, or should I be neurotic and scan the contracts to keep for future reference (in case a friend gets married and wants to use them)? What do you think? DH and I are usually meticulous about paperwork, but I don't know how necessary it is to keep this stuff.

Thanks!

I'm keeping mine. The reason: my sister got married 15 years ago and she was still able to tell me how much my parents gave her, who was invited, all sorts of vendors that she recomended. It was very helpful to me, especially the vendors, since I figured if they were still around, they must be super good!

I'm saving it in the wedding planner that I used. I know its silly but I'm just not ready to throw out anything wedding related yet. Although I did get rid of my bridal magazines when I moved in July.

I almost threw mine out when we moved. ALMOST. Right now it is up in our spare room in the closet. I suppose when I have to make that room into a nursery (!) it will probably go into the garbage, or to someone who needs it. Maybemy cousin will get engaged or something!

This is what I'll do. Right now I still have all the info from vendors that I shopped at, but did not use. I'm going to keep the info from vendors I used and some that I liked but did not use. This way I can give recommendations.

OMG, so funny, I am married almost three years already and I just found all our contracts, quotes, menus, pictures of stuff in a folder. I had it in a folder with all our important paperwork. I honestly don't see myself ever throwing it out. I am a sap ans like to save these things!!

DH has all the contracts and what not in a folder. we will most likely shred whatever we don't need.

I threw out everything except the photographer contract (still need it for the album). I originally hesitated because I thought I might want to keep everything for my scrapbook, but then I realized there was no way I wanted to have a 'memory' of how much everything cost!

I have it all in my wedding planner along with some other stuff that was left over. It's nice to look back and think about what we were doing this time last year, etc. I'm sure after time it'll all get tossed but for now I like to take the trips down memory lane.

Keeping it all!

When I first got engaged, my grandma showed me all of her notes and receipts and pieces of paper with who gave what gifts and it was SO interesting!! I think she paid something like $3.50 a plate for chicken dinner for their wedding 50 yrs ago and $25 for the band. All their gifts were between $5 and $15 dollars from guests ($15 was A LOT)!!!!

I know 50 years down the line i'm going to want to show my grandchildren how 'cheap' everything was.

I kept all the contracts and put in the box with all the other wedding related items. It doesn't take up much space and who knows if I'll ever need it

I have all of the paperwork. I have it for reference for future referrals and to look back on with my children for jokes to see what I paid. Some I am still in the processing of using.

It is all still in the 'wedding binder' & stored in our file cabinet. I don't plan on throwing it out as I can use it for future reference for friends. Plus like my mom, she showed me all her receipts from her wedding when I was planning mine! I want to do the same with my kids!

Beautifully put! That's what I hope to do too.
