would you want to help others plan their weddings?? my parents (really my dad) is still in complete awe of our wedding. I think it was all the little details we had thanks to LIW and well he keeps trying to convince me I should go into business or something.
has anyone thought of this or felt the same way? just curious.

I do. I just started studying to get my wedding planners certificate. I like this way of learning because you can do it at your own pace.
I absolutely LOVED planning my wedding! My friend just got engaged and asked me to be a bridesmaid. I was SOOO excited b/c now I get to help plan her wedding with her!!!

I did wedding planning for about a year professionally and hated every moment. Most brides are such pains in the asses. I was getting phone calls from them on my cell phone at all hours of the day and night

I would never want to do it professionally, but I would love to help a friend with hers. I hope I get asked to be in another wedding one day - I feel like I could be such a better BM now that I know all the detail that goes into planning a wedding. I just feel bad that my best friends were all married before me and I could have done more to help them!! I love weddings though!

i would enjoy helping someone else plan their wedding not to the extent of a wedding planner but helping with ideas and personal touches...

I would never want to do it - I loved planning my own, but I only enjoyed it because it was mine! i did things my way, and everything was what I wanted - and that is what made it so much fun! When you deal with other people they want things their way, and it would bother me to put my name on something that was not my taste!

I agree -- I guess I loved doing all the personal touches for our wedding cause it was 'our' day and meant so much to us -- but as a planner you have to deal with so much more. Phone calls at all hours, and it's not your wedding so you have to agree with the client's taste.
I think like so many said I would just like to help friends make thier day more special. Actually I'll be a BM in one of my girls weddings this May -- better start working on some projects.
My dad must be craazy -- I just got my Masters too -- and have a huge loan to drop my career

I wouldn't want to do it professionally. My best friend just got engaged, and I'm helping her with her wedding. I am really excited for that, but it's beacause she's my best friend. I had fun planning my wedding, but by the end of our one year engagement, I was done & ready for it to be over. I wouldn't want that to be my career.

that's exactly how i feel! i like helping my friends/relatives to the best i can, but other than that, i don't really want any part of it. planning my own was great because it was mine and mine only!

I could help by making suggestions - what we did in our wedding, what didn't work, etc but I won't do it as a full time job.
