Now what do I do? A wee bit long, ooops!

Now what do I do? A wee bit long, ooops!

I'm sure this topic has been though here before, but now I've 'crossed over' so here it is!

For the last couple of months, the wedding consumed everything -- our thoughts, our time, our money(ha), and now, after the MOST AMAZING DAY ever, it's over....and I feel a little lost! I knew this was a great place to ask about this, because I'm sure a lot of you felt the same way.

So tell me, how did you cheer up? How did you stay motivated about the good things you were doing to take great care of yourself pre-wedding? How did you replace or try to replace the excitement?

I'm just a little sad!! And I feel foolish because I know I should be grateful about how well things went, I don't want to complain!!

Dont worry I felt the same way..Obviously I am so grateful..but i was SO upset it was over. I put SO much time into it and I felt so lost aftterwards. Don't get me wrong, I am loving the whole marriage part, but the wedding planning thing was my life for over a year and i miss it!. The day after our wedding I cried for a few hours (no joke) that I wanted to redo it.. It was truly the best day ever and it went way too fast. The honeymoon cheered me up.. but when that was over I cried that not only was our wedding over so was our honeymoon! haha I think what has really helped me to move past all the gloom is the fact that I can spend my money on anything I want now!! not just a wedding. I got a new jacket, boots, shirts, pants, dresses, a computer, a table, a new chair, new curtains, blinds... hahah the list goes on. Sadly that has helped. I think i will honestly miss wedding planning for a while. I really had the best time of my life planning my wedding, i thought every single step (except rsvp stalking) was amazing and SO much fun!

but now its time to have fun with my DH and our not-so-broke bank account.

eta: and we also planned a mini vacation and are in the process of planning a bigger vacation.. so that gives us something to really look forward to.We are also big christmas people so we are looking forward to the holidays!! and we are having more and more talks about babies

I was happy for it to be over....I hated every minute of the planning and was happy to enjoy my day and get my life back. We went on to house hunting so that consumed two months of my life. Now we are waiting to close on the house and then construction will consume it.

I think you will find something to do.....life will throw something your way

I gained 15 lbs... so I didn't.

The puppy is my new happy motivation. But I am still finding myself sluggish.

ive just continued to stay on this website...still look up wedding things on a reg basis and ive pretty much become obsessed with being part of TWOTY! lol

dont worry your not alone! its like the day you dreamt about your whole entire life is over? what do you dream about now? babies? in our case thats not gonna happen till we have a house, so im keeping myself busy by looking at houses on line and start to do all that stuff!

helping other people with wedding stuff has helped a little!

feel better!
i always think there are still people out there dreaming and thinking they are never going to have the wedding day of their dreams (a lot of my close friends who recently become single)
you got to have that day and it was perfect!

I've been keeping busy with SHOPPING now that $$$ isn't being put aside for the wedding.

thank you girls :) i really love this site. I was writing my review and saying how much i wish I found it sooner and got to know some of you 09 girls :)

i don't miss not stressing like crazy about our wedding. I fo sho hear what some of you say about not stressing and getting to spend money in other places -- which is so nice. I will have to buy some good stuff - we want to get a Mac Book!

I really appreciate that many of you have felt the same way -- and by the way, I looked at the thread ot the TWOTY submissions - hilarious!

Re: Now what do I do? A wee bit long, ooops!

I have to say, surprisingly I'm not experiencing any post-wedding depression..

DH and I both feel like wedding planning was such a wonderful time of our lives, and that the wedding was the first day of the the rest of our lives and only the statr of what's to come.

Literally the night we got back from our HM we've put all that energy we spent on the wedding and re-focused it not only to eachother, but our families, our hobbies, friends, careers, etc.

What else are we focusing on? We've come up with a fantastic financial game plan that should be able to out us in our dream house by this time next year.

AND-we are currently getting yearly physicals, and all of our doctor-esque checkups and concentrating on our healthy lifestyles because in a few months we are going to 'stop preventing' if you know what I mean

So even though you're not planning a massive event, know that there are SO MANY more special things to look forward to. And that it's really nice to just hold hands and stand still for a while.

i took some advice and yesterday we cleaned our apartment....i go through home improvement phases, and that can really be the next thing I focus on. And today we went and got a new toy -- i wanted a laptop so bad and yay now I'm using it!

Now, if I could just stop eating!!!

I was so relieved when it was over.

I mean, yea we had ALL this free time and it was no more planning and waiting. We just enjoyed eachother and went out with our friends and talked to them. Listened to people rave about our wedding. It was great. If you are feeling lost, maybe watching the video will make you happy or looking at pics?
