NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

Happy Halloween Eve

I heard on the radio earlier in the week that there is a movement to change the actual day of Halloween so it's like Thanksgiving and is always a Saturday.

Are you in favor of that kind of national switch? What do you plan to do if anyone shows up today to get some candy??

I'm really looking forward to the replies for this one!! Don't hold back ladies!!

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

Halloween is not my fav holiday at all.. yea i like to get dressed up if we have a party or somewhere to go to... but i dont go crazy over it..

with that said.. i think they should just leave it alone!

over the yrs too there has been less and less trick or treaters, kids jut have grown up i guess.. lol so honestly, if anyone came earlier i would give them candy! lol

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

omg they cant change the date of halloween!!!
I think its a bad idea because than people will stay out all hours of the night. i think there would have to be a curfew---and that would never work.
I really am not a crazy Halloween fan.....i didnt even buy candy yet .

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

halloween is probably my least favorite holiday. actually, i kind of dislike it. so i really don't care whether they change it.

caveat: this feeling may change when I have kids, but we'll see.

if someone shows up today to get candy they're SOL b/c i don't have any!

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

I too am against changing it. I just see too many complications. The other thing which is kind of wayyyyy out there, but what else would you expect from me, is this...the kids who go to after care. They were crushed and confused that they weren't going trick or treating yesterday. I like that if it stays the way it does, they have 5 chances of going trick or treating vs. NEVER going if it's on a Saturday.

If kids come today they're going to get three big dogs barking at them and nothing more. I didn't get any candy yet.

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

no way, it shouldn't be changed! it's so cute in the middle of the week when adorable kids are walking down your street in costume...always a day-maker in the middle of a long week!

Re: NWQOD Saturday, October 30th

I definitely think that's a bad idea...just seems to me that you're making an excuse for people to drink their faces off...I know some people will no matter what, but if Halloween is always on a Saturday then it means that a lot more people will be able to party.

I am not in favor. I like Halloween on the 31st and would not want that changed.
