One of mine is how when I was younger we would always go to my grandma's and she'd have all her china out and we'd have such a fancy dinner. But when I was that young I just hated food, I only liked cheese and macaroni. So I remember crying because my dad yelled at me that I couldn't fill up on the cheese and crackers bc I had to eat Turkey. Now I laugh because I'm like a garbage disposal with any kind of food lololol. Also getting to make a wish on the wishbone with my sister. She'd always get jealous if I pulled the larger half lol

Mine was probably when I was 4 or 5 We were at my Grandmas. And it was like a blizzard out! My sisters, bro and cousins just looked out the window in awe! Then we all sat for a cozy dinner together. They didn't have a huge house but it was like the warmest coziest house I have ever been in (plastic on the furniture and all!)

I really miss hanging with the family. I used to love being with my Grandparents on Thanksgiving when my sister and I were little! Those are some of my best memories!

Mine was when my grandmother made my aunts and uncles and parents wear pilgrim hats, and all the grandkids had to wear indian hats.
looking back on it, i so believe i am my grandmother's granddaughter for real, i would do the same thing. LOL.

I always hated Thanksgiving until last year--my mom is my best friend, but she is SO stressful to be around during the holidays and she makes everyone upset. Last year, I couldn't make it to LI, and I had a giant pot luck with a bunch of friends. It was the most chill and relaxing holiday I've ever had! DH and I hope to have more holidays like that in the future .

I loved Thanksgiving so much when I was little. I would always make pilgri hats and Native American feather headresses for everyone.
I mean, I still love Thanksgiving. However, when I was little, two of my Grandparents were still living. Also, we don't talk to one of my brothers, so we don't see him, his wife, or kids on the holidays. It's just kinda small now.
Next year, we are hosting though. Our families will be combined and we will have the big old fashioned Thanksgiving that I love!

Re: ~*~*~*NWQOTD 11/24/2010*~*~*~
When we were little one year my whole family decided to go have this big Thanksgiving dinner at a turkey farm/restaurant. It may not have been Thanksgiving day itself but around that time, and all my cousins and I were running around the farm and playing, looking at all the turkeys, then when we came inside to eat we found out that they kill the turkeys that were outside to feed the people their Thanksgiving dinner! (Duh lol) So I was so upset and so was my cousin, and the two of us refused to eat turkey and the whole family is yelling at us that it's Thanksgiving and you're supposed to eat turkey and that's why we went there in the first place, lol... but we still refused so the waitress came around and let me and my one cousin order cheeseburgers. The rest of the family was not fazed and still had the turkey.
