hi girls! i hope you guys find this question more interesting :o)
i've been thinking a lot about my wedding lately...it hasn't been THAT long after all, we haven't even selected the album photos yet...but all this talk about proofs got me thinking about it all... SO my question:
what was the stupidest thing you obsessed over or worried about when it came to your wedding day? Was there a specific item, or some other little detail that in retrospect seems all but silly now? OR if not, what was the single most important detail of your wedding that you pulled off flawlessly? (ps - this isn't referring to heavy, emotional issues or vows or family-issues or anything like that... i'm thinking on a much smaller scale here
typically, i consider myself to be a pretty even-keeled person, pretty laid-back and positive. i don't know about you, but my wedding was an emotional whirlwind, but looking back, i sometimes caught myself fixated or concerned over something i perceived to be HUGE but in the end...didn't matter at all. the glaring example in my wedding was... petal cones. i spent weeks looking online for some before realizing i had no money left in the budget and had to DIY (once again) i simply HAD to have them!!!... so i made them. i spent HOURS making them from fancy, expensive patterned paper, silk ribbon and glue-on rhinestones. i burned myself COUNTLESS times on the hot glue, i even threw out some that weren't 'perfect'... they matched our colors, even coordinated with the background of the pictures in the cardbox i made... the day of the wedding, the house coordinator didn't realize that i didn't make more than just for the aisle seats and screwed up where to put them, guests did figure out that they were for after the ceremony, (from what i heard) some people tried to untie the (glued!!) ribbon thinking they were supposed to, and my some of my family came up and said 'I loved that you had white petal cones to match the white chairs and tent! it was so perfect'...and i'm thinking...'uhhh they were BLUE PAISLEY and white!'
and so sipping some champagne, totally glowing and utterly in love that night... i laughed to myself thinking, what a GOOBER i was. freaking out over stupid petal cones, no one cared and in the end, the most important part was that they held the beautiful petals for the recessional! i learned quite a few things and i'm grateful for that...and hey, they still looked cool! but in the end, the sunset, the incredible lightning storm... and the rainbows were so much better than anything i could have planned!
also, that aside, our wedding was just so very perfect that i couldn't complain if i tried! :o)
i look forward to hearing what you might have to share! :o)
Happy MLK day!
