*~*~*NWQOTD 12/13*~*~*
So... first off, thanks for picking me Becca.
Secondly - I haven't been around since Wednesday and have no clue what's going on so... I hope I don't repeat anything.
Before my question, because I haven't even gotten to write about anything that happened... let me share and then question will be at the bottom:
Okay, so ... I haven't written anything about how the reception went but I'm sure SOME of you saw on facebook that the icing on the cake of my short novel of things that went incorrectly on Saturday, was this:
One of the differences I'm guessing (because I've never planned a reception here in NY) between here and the midwest is that... I had to go set up on the morning of.
I mean the room was put together. The tables were dressed and what not. But we were responsible for placing our favors and any any other decorations I had on the tables.
The long story short is that I have no F-ing clue what happened because I didn't actually feel it happen but I sliced my finger open on the morning of and realized it only after I had blood all over my hands and a big smudge of it on my face.
So we bandaged it up but the thing wouldn't quit bleeding. I had two small but deep cuts right at the tips of a finger and nothing I did would make it stop for a long while.
Eventually it clotted and I had it bandaged... had to get dressed and do my own makeup (I know... I know... 'You did your own makeup!?') in seriously 40 minutes.
My husband took longer than me.
I have my dress on and go downstairs and ask someone to zip me up and I look down and there's
BLOOD. ON MY DRESS.
RIGHT IN THE FRONT.
IN THREE DIFFERENT SPOTS.
My finger isn't even bleeding at this point. I still have no clue what happened. But whatever. I started crying because Bill just kept telling me 'wear a bandaid.' And I'm like *** is the matter with you I'm not wearing a bandaid in my wedding pictures...
My mom and grandma and Bill are simultaneously scrubbing away trying to get it out but it was on the tulle part and it just didn't budge.
Whatever - it was fine. Seriously no one knew. No one even noticed. I stopped caring and it was fine.
But while we did our pictures (in the freaking FREEZING COLD) (No seriously, I can't explain to you... google weather metro-detroit right now and you'll see what was happening and I went and struggled it out without a shawl or little jacket or anything) I just told our photographer 'Well I guess I can't even try to sell this thing now. My future daughter isn't going to want to wear my dress with my paper cut blood on it... I might as well destroy the thing. Fckkk it .... Let's just do like the most obnoxiously messy trash the dress session ever. You can like cover me in fake blood if you want.'
So my question is really a two parter because I'm going to abuse my NWOTW privilege...
1. Given that I never wanted to keep my dress... and was going to just try to sell it on pre-owned wedding dresses or some other place like that. Would you advise me to just go ahead and freakin destroy the hell out of this dress? It already has blood on it. At most I'm going to cut out a section of the dress to use it on my future kid's christening gown but the rest of it doesn't need o stay with me.
And....
If you were able to do a TTD shoot however you wanted... what would be your dream way of doing it? (And you girls who are thinking 'I'd never destroy my dress' ... I'll throw you a bone. What if someone gave you another dress or even a SECOND dress the exact same as yours so that you could be messy with your actual dress with no worries...
